It's not shooting this butt wad that's going to traumatize the poor cop ... it's what the guy was doing to the baby and not being able to stop him in time that's going to traumatize him. That's what Flames Gimp and I were getting at.

Regarding your other post, I'm 47 and feel pretty much the same way. Bring back peace, love and grooviness ... please.

sad story all around, one must imagine(and hope as disturbing as that is) that there was something mentally wrong with the individual who was beating the baby.

I agree what he did was justified and ultimately, a good thing for society, but he wasn't actually able to save the infant.

I'm not meaning to take away from the praise for the cop... I'm just confused as I don't think you can call him a hero if he didn't stop the man before it was too late.

Though he did still stop an obviously dangerous person. I don't know, I'm just confused.
I'd give him a medal for saving everyone the cost and indignity of having to go through years of trials, appeals and parole hearings, and making sure justice was delivered on the spot.

It wasn't dead when he got there, and he atleast gave the paramedics a chance to save the child while stopping the man from doing anymore damage.

The actions were heroic, in the sense that he tried to save someone in peril.
