Billions are collected in the process of ruining lives through smoking and this is the exact same thing that governments do. Perfectly legal things that everyone know is bad for you and causes damage. The second a government sued a tobacco company is the second they should have realized they may have to pay the same price (never mention the profit the government takes from smoking as well.

I agree it should be a person's own responsibility.

There is a big difference between the smoking and gambling problems. When the tobacco companies first started promoting smoking, they never told people it would kill them even though they had evidence to suggest otherwise. That is how the tobacco companies got nailed.

I can't say for certain but it must be otherwise there would be a never ending line of litigation.

^ I agree with you here Fotze. People want to be able to gamble though. There were a lot of plebiscites a few years ago to remove VLT's. (The issue being that they transfer so much money out of the communities and send it to the province). I can't recall, but VLT's are still everywhere, which indicates a willingness to have these in all of these communities.
