Easily my all-time favourite NHL intro.
NHL 99 holds the title for best sports game intro ever

Oh yes, I remember that one quite well! Me and my roommates in Lethbridge spent an entire summer playing NHL99, Tony Hawk 2 and watching Matrix a bazillion times.

Darn, I really didn't want to buy another EA product. But if they:

1. Fix the problems of this year's game

2. Add in some of that team specific chants there's a thread about somewhere

3. If THE DION is on the cover

No more boycott for me.

And imagine the game intro using your favorite team's intro with the air siren? That would be super sweet.

I will buy one as soon as they release a good one for PC. Im getting bloody tired of crappy ports and rehashes of old versions (as mentioned). NHL04 was the best one for PC IIRC. Controls actually worked and wasnt plagued by errors and bugs. Also, the color guy was such a great schmutz

Slightly OT but I loved this intro on the old PS1...

I always liked this one, though I hate the song. The intro starts 45 seconds into the video.

It also features a ridiculous goal by Sandy McCarthy at 1:40.

What problems did you have with the game? I am always curious what others find annoying when playing.

I find the hitting in the game to be frustratingly ineffective.

LOL! the one and only video that i've ever uploaded to youtube

The new features on NHL 09 look interesting. I can't wait for this game to come out.

Things I loved and notice aside from Phanuef being in most in the video (which makes me ), the checks don't seem glued. Meaning the sucking animations shouldn't be present and physics plays roles in collisions.

Another thing is you can now dump pucks by flicking it in the air. This is something I'll really appreciate because now I won't be stuck in my zone not be able to dump the puck without icing it. This flick dump is something done a lot in real life so nice to see.

Good first impressions. I'll probably head to Vancouver and play this game in August prior to release for the first time too.

One of the worst, but certainly the cheesiest.
NHL 97!

I always liked how in this one when you're Editing the lines the players pictures were up, and how on the main menu you could look at goalie helments.

With the one Anthony Cook put up did anyone else notice they blanked out the ads on the boards? How much better did that look?

Best Intro in my opinion was NHL 2000.. The music was very well co-ordinated with the video clips.

i find it quite easy.... frustratingly easy even...... it seems as if on online play, people can line you up from across the ice and the game game becomes one big hit fest..... Kind gets old, especially since there doesnt seem to much of interference call on online play.... i always send a pass to someone and my guy gets leveled blatantly before the pass gets there and nothing is called

They should bring back the players saying "EA Sports, it's in the game!" at the start. I liked that.

I'm a community leader and moderator over at the EA Forums, so I have daily communications with the community manager at EA Canada. He's planning to hold another community event this August to check out the game and I'll actually be 18 this time so he wants me to come.
