Reading that article, you almost wonder if it was foul play by a animal activist group. I'm not sure why anyone else would want to bother attacking the zoo.

Massive crash at the RAYTONA 500 with only a few entries left in the race.
We have seasons passes and loved the Ray tank. Hopefully this wasn't a protest against bringing the Belugas to the zoo. The Arctic shores exhibit plans to construct the largest in-land aquarium and bring in large aquatic mammals like walrus, sea lions and even Beluga Whales.

Why would animal activists want to kill a bunch of animals?

Yeah, animal activists are stupid enough to kill animals in the name of saving animals.

I don't think there is any reason to jump to conclusions until the toxicology reports are in. But like what was posted above, maybe to stop another exhibit from being introduced. And yeah, that's sick as hell but who knows what really happened at this point. (and i sort of jumped to a conclusion anyway)

I gotta think that if there is a toxin in the water it would need to be deliberate. That water would have been monitored like crazy I imagine. I would assume any accidental poisoning would be relatively slow and noticeable. Not cool.

Years ago we bought a starter fish tank for our daughter, it had about eight (Cherry Barbs?) in it. The first time she cleaned the tank, she unknowingly used a sponge containing bleach. The fish were dead in an hour after returning to their tank.

Last month she tried her luck with a little aquatic frog, and one fish. Within a couple of days a whitish film (Ick?) formed on the fish, which died shortly after. The frog lasted a couple more days, and was flushed shortly after.

It wasn't long after that my daughter visited the zoo with a friend, and raved about the Stingray exhibit.

Just sayin'....

Maybe they Jonestowned each other and drank some Kool-Aid? Stingrays were protesting the captivity of stingrays?

Yeah, No they are not... Give me one example in which an animal activist intentionally harmed a non-human animal.

Because I'm young and ignorant, I'm going to blame old people. Even if proven otherwise.

It was reported elsewhere, I just couldn't be bothered to find the link. Also, there was a thread on it here at one point I think..

They have enough financing and support to put up billboards in Times Square. Perhaps some research on your part would help clear things up.
