You can't make this stuff up. The self-named "gangs" competing with each other in Calgary are called "Fresh of the Boat" = FOB, and "Fresh of the Boat Killers" = FK. Pretty much all of the recent gang shootings in Calgary have been between these two gangs with each one being a revenge hit for the previous one.

FOB?!? FK?!? Are you serious? Good lord... that could be the stupidest thing I've heard in years!

Potential gang warfare at the University of Calgary? Real life yet again trumps fiction when it comes to absurdity.

The gang names are real, however the extention to UofC is unfounded speculation. Only a guess because they are the predominate street gangs and when shots are fired in a drive-by it sounds more like them than some random punk.

Outlaw biker gangs are establishing puppet clubs to expand their influence over the drug trade throughout the province while two Calgary street gangs, FOB and FK, continue to wage a bloody feud for power and prestige that has already claimed at least four lives since 2002.
Here's also a report from 2005-2006 from Criminal Intelligence Service Alberta:

Herald story this morning regarding the incident and the cancelled exams:

Also as a side note, you'd be surprised at just how many university students are involved in that circle of people.

I'm not saying these targets are innocent, but a lot of the time, they're targetted because of association. The individuals don't actually deal in illegal activities, organize assaults, etc. but socialize in a circle where some of the people do.

Still not the smartest on their part though... more often than not, you're assumed to be who your friends are.

Hey it is a beautiful neighborhood!

This happened just down the street from me. We heard shots but assumed it was someone shooting bears or coyotes eating someones garbage again.
