A wrestling book? I thought he said non-fiction

Anything by Jon Krakauer or Sid Marty - Marty is a local author from the Pincher Creek area and hands-down my favourite author.

Everything Bad is Good for You by Steven Johnson, and Parting the Waters by Taylor Branch (first in a three-part biography of MLK Jr.) are favourites of mine.

Stay away from anything by Malcolm Gladwell. Unless ######baggery is your thing.

HA HA HA HA. BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA

He made a non-fiction joke about wrestling. BWA HA HA HA HA HA good one.

seriously though, what makes this autobiography so good is that it comes out and tells wrestling like it really is. He talks about how the endings are planned, he talks about the steroids, womanizing and drug abuse rampant in the industry. He talks about the meatheads. He talks about the minor leagues.

And most of all he talks about the brutal family dynamic held within Calgary's iconic Hart family.

Seriously, this is a good read.

Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi

This is the true story that inspired Goodfellas.

LOL! Well done, fotze.

I also enjoyed the Hart biography. Tells it like it was. and leaves nothing out. The one disappointing thing is that most of the Chris Benoit content is edited out.

With a new introduction written by troutman, after last night's screwage of the Bruins.

If you're a crotchety old conservative, you'd definitely enjoy Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg. A bit ranty at times, but some good historical arguments about the American progressive movement's early roots and affiliations with European fascists.

That last one is just hilarious to me. I knew it was only a matter of time before we saw an atheist bible. I chortled for quite some time when I saw that one sitting in Chapters in the "Religion" section.

Ha ha... this made me laugh. I'm not really into true crime or sports books, so don't know if these'll pick your interest, but...

An oldie but a goodie is Greg Palast's "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy".

I also recently read Harvard law professor Randall Kennedy's last two books, both pretty short, "N**ger: the Strange Career of a Troublesome Word" and "Sellout: The Politics of Racial Betrayal". Pretty interesting history of race relations in the U.S., both simple but very provocative.

The World Without Us by Alan Weisman is pretty good...talks about how the Earth would look/react if humans just suddenly disappeared off the face of the planet. Stuff like how NYC subways would fill with water, streets would cave in, etc etc. Really interesting read.

I would also recommend either one of Mick Foley's first two autobiographies [Have A Nice Day!: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks and Foley Is Good (And the Real World is Faker Than Professional Wrestling)]. They weren't best-sellers for nothin'.

If you want to read about the innards of the wrestling scene then Mick Foley's books are excellent. Brett Hart's book was also very good. I suggest you give any one of these books a read.

I also recommend Brett Hart's book, very good read. Another good one is The Heroin diaries by Nikki Sixx.

Anything by Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. Hell's Angels is great, earlier work, not quite as spaced out as some of the later stuff.
