Yeah, looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see the Yanks beat the Jays...

FYI

Free mlb.tv is working. I can't download the "enhanced" media player or Mosaic at work so I can't say if any of that is working.

Cabrera just crushed a home run. Detroit is absolutely stacked.

Is there usually a day off in between opening day and the second game between teams?

I think the first series usually does go 2 games in the first three days just in case they do have increment weather on opening day. They seem to have made this a lot more common now that they've been starting the season earlier than they used to.

While I'm entering the season with a lot of faith, the number one reason why they will not leapfrog the yanks or bosox is this:

John Gibbons. He is one of worst managers in the game.
oh and Zaun, but I mentioned him in the off-season thread.

Favourite current Jays: Johnny Mac, Stairs and Thomas

Frig, sounds like the game could be postponed once again. There is a 60% chance of rain.

I have a major issue with Gibbons sometimes. Hill is on 2nd after a leadoff double, Scutaro up (great bunter), and he lets him hit away. The Jays fail to bring the run in at what was a pivotal point in the game.

Those are the kinds of little things the Jays need to improve on if they want to supplant the Yankees or Red Sox at the top of the AL East.

That is exactly what ticked me off about last year's team. Always went for the big hit. Isn't this why we brought NL'ers on board like Eckstein and Rolen? Guys that are accustomed to playing small ball.
