What American accent do you have? (Best version so far)
My Results:

Neutral You`re not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.
I have no accent.

Canadian People from outside North America probably think you`re from the States, but over here we wouldn`t make such a mistake.
One accent for all of Canada? Martimers and folks from the Ottawa Valley speak much differently.

Neutral here as well. Which is pretty accurate, I think. I'm from Alberta, but have lived in North Carolina, Virginia for 6-7 years. When I first moved here, as soon as I opened my mouth people would say "whoa, where you from", now I rarely get a comment about my accent. I find myself randomly switching between southern and canadian pronounciations to the point where I don't consciously remember which is which.
I can sure hear a Canadian accent when I go home now though. That's a pretty crazy feeling to hear an accent on voices that seemed accentless all my life.

Or people from southern Ontario. I can pick them out easily.

What American accent do you have? (Best version so far)
My Results:
Northern You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.
Actually makes sense, as people have told me I sound anywhere from a Bostonian to a New Yorker to a Chicagoan (?). I also have no idea where I got said accent, because none of my family members are from that area and I didn't spend any of my formative years in any of those places.

neutral.
Not only have I never lived in any of those states, I've never even been to any of those states.
Plus, its pretty simplistic to say Canadian is one accent. Ontarians have a very distinct sound compared to Westerners. Plus, neutral sounds a lot like western US.

Canadian accent of course. But I've studied the Canadian accent and I know exactly which answers result in that accent.
The big question is this one: Do you say ABOUT and MOUTH with the same vowel sound as LOUD and DOWN?
No Canadian should ever answer this one yes. If you have answered yes to this question and call yourself Canadian, please play again. You may think you say "about" like an american, but I'm sorry (sore-ee), you don't.
How do you say the first A in PASTA? 95%+ of Canadians will answer cat, not father.
Do you say RIGHT and PRICE with the same vowel sound as RIDE and PRIZE?
Definitely different. Typical Canadian English.
The first six questions are all Canadian mergers.
I'm interested to see what answers people gave. The quiz seems so straight forward, I would have though way more people would have gotten "Canadian".
