Sammy Hagar, I Can't Drive 55:
One foot on the brake and one on the gas, hey!
Well, there's too much traffic, I can't pass, no!
So I tried my best illegal move
Well, baby, black and white come and touched my groove again!
Gonna write me up a 125
Post my face wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55!
Beach Boys, Little Deuce Coupe:
And comin off the line when the light turns green
Well she blows em outta the water like you never seen
I get pushed out of shape and its hard to steer
When I get rubber in all four gears
Shes my little deuce coupe
You dont know what I got
Queen, I'm In Love With My Car:
Im in love with my car
Gotta feel for my automobile
Get a grip on my boy racer rollbar
Such a thrill when your radials squeal
Gary Numan, In Cars:
Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live
In cars

Do certain songs remind you of special drives you took?
I associate Into The Mystic by Van Morrison with a great night drive on the California coast in a convertible on a Spring Break with friends.
Another time, some friends drove with me to Las Vegas for a stag. Hey Ya by Outkast was played repeatedly.
Tumbling Dice by the Rolling Stones reminds me of a road trip through Ohio and Indiana with a friend.

There are definitely a bunch of songs with special memories to me. Some Green Day and some Elvis that were great sing-a-longs on rugby trips in university....now that I think about it that might be my only recollection from those trips!

Nirvana's Nevermind and Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever got tons of play on a memorable ski trip so long ago.

I dunno why, but I've always found Free Falling to be a far better drive song than Last dance with Mary Jane.
Among my personal favourite drive songs:
Lightning Crashes - Live
I Alone - Live
Black Gold- Soul Asylum
Without a Trace - Soul Asylum
Can't Even Tell- Soul Asylum
Times Like These (acoustic) - Foo Fighters
Pianoman - Billy Joel
Gotta Get Away - Offspring
In the End- Linkin Park
Go Your Own Way- Fleetwood Mac
I Wish You Well- Tom Cochrane
Do This Anymore- Nickelback

This is THE driving song IMO. Especially at dusk on a hot summer night.
