I saw basicly the same thing in some TV show some years ago (I guess it was some kind of science show). They had a guy in a gorilla suit, only the guy was a lot bigger and a lot closer to the camera, at one time propably covering third of the screen and waiving at the camera. I noticed it right away (but I think it made me lose count of the passes). Still, a lot of people had missed it. (They showed clips of previous screenings, funny stuff..) The funniest thing was, at the end of the show they run clips pointing out that the guy in the gorilla suit had been popping in and out of screen all through the show (where the viewers attention was at something else on the screen, although less obviously), and still both me and my wife had completely missed it until the end. Hilarious stuff, and very enlightening.
