Funny how you're basically given a "Fan Club" surcharge if you want any kind of chance at decent seats on the floor. Same deal with Tom Petty, had to buy a fan club membership, even then I ended up 20 rows back.
Then you have ridiculous CJAY with their presales, HOB, etc. Enough, just put the tickets on sale.

How much? Never mind. I found it myself.
Seems kinda steep. 20 bucks to get e-mails and access to a members-only forum (that doesn't exist) and the right to buy tickets a day early. I wanna go to this but I'm not going to get burned with a hundred different surcharges, club fees and nonsense for the right. Whatever happened to just selling the bloody tickets?
50 bucks for some trinkets and magazines.
I'm sold. Hit me with the prices.
You can join online-only for a mere £10!
Or if you're the sort of person who always orders a starter and a pudding to go with your main course then you can grab full membership for a little more.
Feed me.
Full Fan Club membership gives you everything listed above AND...
- 3 colour magazines a year
- Glossy photo of the band
- Exclusive FC sticker
- Laminated membership card
- Enamel club badge (replica of Steve Harris' bass)
- Discount vouchers
Full membership is £22.50 / year for UK members, £25.00 for EU countries and £27.50 for the rest of the world. Postage prices, you see.
Postage prices indeed.

That presale went quick, I snagged 4 tickets on the floor right at 10AM and did another search immediately just for the hell of it. Could only bring up a single.

Same, they went quick. I managed to get 4 in 110 row 4. Hopefully they will be decent.

Seats?
But I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to be on the floor, sweatly guys with no shirts rubbing their bellies on you trying to get through the crowd, people pumping their fists nailing you in the face with their elbow, drinks getting thrown over your head and spilling on you.

In university, our area of the dorm would get hockey jerseys every year with nickname and any number you want. My buddy (the one who saw them in TO) had his jersey made with "EDDIE" "666" on it.

Much to my dismay I can't use ticketmaster on my work computer so I am SOL for the fan club presale. I was hoping to get something seated near the stage because I actually prefer not having stinky sweaty men rub their naked torsos on me and elbow me and spill crackbeer on me. I just want to enjoy the pyrotechnics and the facemelting solos. Which can be done comfortably from the 100s whilst consuming crackbeer. I guess it's possible I could still get elbowed and/or have someone else's crackbeer spilled on me when a doped up headbanger tumbles over the balcony from the second level and lands on me.
Anyway I will try later on and if all else fails maybe I can score something closer to (ie. on the day) of the show.

I had 4 Calgary tix on the floor that I was going to "re-sell", but I let them go due to not wanting the hassle. Also, it was a bit of a trial run for getting tickets closer to home for the Van-city show. I managed to snag 4 floors for that one, but will likely unload them as a friend got seats right on the side closer to the stage.

Got my tix... but had to settle for 2nd level. Can't believe I'm going to an Iron Maiden concert... they were my favorite when I was in Jr. High but I haven't listened to them in years. Used to have the Iron Maiden t-shirts, wall banners, etc. Ahhh those were the days...

Can I play with madness?
Almost as good as the real thing, Calgary's own Edward The Great:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndID=100313375
Edward The Great was formed in 2004 by 5 of Calgary's finest musicians. With a passion for melodic, harmonic and intricate metal, Edward The Great delivers a highly energized night of the best of Iron Maiden. Spanning 3 decades of Maiden classics, Edward The Great is sure to have the masses on their feet for the entire show. Complete with the fabled "Eddie" and a few other Maiden staples, this is a show you have to see.

My brother just waded through internet logjams to secure what he could:
Sec. 29, Row 5, Seats 1–2.
Run to the Hills, baby!
