Not a huge punk fan, liked Pennywise back in the day, one of my fav bands during high school was this local punk band from North Van, called DBS. They have since broke up, but I loved their music back in the day.

I don't listen to much Punk anymore (it is dead IMO) but here are some bands that I did listen to:

Rise Against (the first couple albums)
The Misfits
Anti-Flag
Black Flag
The Distillers
The Bouncing Souls
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
NOFX

That's all I can remember right now.

Punk, to me, has always been more of an "I don't give a ****" ethos than a style of music. If that follows, one of the greatest has to be Nick Cave.

Hard for me to name just a few... Some of these may not be considered punk bands and I'll try not to name too many that have already been listed in other posts,

Strung out
No use for a name
Social distortion
tiger army
legendary shack shakers
lawrence arms
The Sainte Catherines (my personal fav)
PROPAGANDHI
death by stereo
88 fingers louie
black halos
street dogs
THE DWARVES
Flogging Molly
IGNITE (their last album was great.. Called out darkest days)
snfu
snuff
The Supersuckers
Swingin Utters
THE DRAFT
The Matadors

I also really love Chuck Ragan's new stuff, he is one of the former singers of hot water music (who are now the draft). His solo stuff is mostly folk/country/accoustic but it is very very good.

Same here.

The Offspring were big when I was younger.

Big is an understatement for me. I'd say one in three kids had a "Smash" t-shirt when I was in jr. high.
