So 100's maybe 1000's of photos with lights and fires and GasFlares overlapping them so many times that they look a lot brighter and like a lot more is going on than what one would see on a typical night. All these photos compiled and tweaked by *someone* and I guess technically its real, in the sense that its not hand drawn but in my mind, no more real than all the digital art out there... is it neat sure I guess, but hardly my definition of "real"...

Just myho.

Yes, the images are obviously photoshopped and stitched together. It's never night everywhere at once.

I have a hard time believe the wild fires they show in Australia. Most of the bushfires in Australia take place in NSW and Victoria. But on the image they show all sorts of bushfires in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. I've been to the areas where the map shows bushfires (in bushfire season no less) and it is practically desert. It's sand or red dirt dotted with cactus-like spinifex. I can't conceive of how there would be fire in these places.

And about 5 million square kilometres of Africa appear to be on fire at the time the photo was taken. Poor Thailand is just an inferno.

It's a cool picture but I think there are some exaggerations.
