I don't have class until 12:30 on Thursday and they sell dollar pints across the street at two locations. Resultingly, Wednesdays have become a pretty good night to drink. Then maybe a drink here or there through the rest of the week depending on what is happening.
So take the 10-15 pints on Wednesday and add them to the few more and i would say 20+ a week, plus weekends.......

Sun - Wed-> Average 1 Beer over the 4 days
Thurday -> ~8
Friday or Saturday -> ~8 one of the nights
I think your poll will be a little skewed because of us uni students. I'd say the majority of us (who drink) drink pretty heavily on thursday nights. Its a big night, bigger than friday or saturday usually. So I have at 9 drinks from Sunday to Thursday, but in an odd way.

There should really be a place in this pole for me. I voted 1-5, but really it's somewhere <10.
Anyways what's with all the CP confessionals floating around right now? We have the Hookers/Blow thread, now the how much do you drink when you probably shouldn't be drinking thread. What's next the 'Have you ever beat up a visible minority?', or the 'Have you ever performed an abortion?' thread.

I might have an occasional glass of wine with dinner if we're having pasta or a bottle of beer if we're having bratwurst. But during the weekdays, its probably only 3-4 times per month. Friday nights are my usual drinking nights as I go out after work fairly often. Saturdays I'll usually have a beer while watching a hockey game.

Duirng the week... zero.
I designate Saturday night for drinking beer, and I usually have around 8 or 9.
I gain weight too fast if I drink during the week.

Haha, oh Thursday nights how I love them. So true though...us University kids are all alcoholics if you follow the definition of alcoholism.
Me, I'm not sure how many drinks I do a week. I'll have a couple beers throughout the week, and then Thursday - Saturday....who knows

I picked the first option, but it's pretty rare for me to drink throughout the week, including weekends. I might have one beer if I go out with friends for dinner or something, and occasionally I will have a rye and coke while at home watching TV or something. I limit myself like that because I absolutely hate being hung-over, and it's just not worth the feeling the next morning to get hammered anymore. I haven't been drunk in probably 3+ years.

We have a little tradition going at work where a lot of us go for a pint at 12:30 every Thursday after we eat our lunch.
I probably have about 2-5 on average between Sunday to Thursday and about 7-15 from Friday to Saturday.

Zero for me also. Can't afford the weight gain. It's a pain in the arse trying to lose what i have now.
I keep no alcohol in the house. That said if i'm out for dinner or done playing a round of golf, i might have a beer.

For me it all depends on whats going on that week or month. How much I am working, how much overtime I am working and events that may be happening. I say on average maybe 15 drinks a month.
Some months it could be 5 some it could be 150. Summer time it is more than winter.

Many studies have shown 1-2 drinks per day for men, and one per day for women is good for health (red wine perhaps being the most beneficial, but any kind of alcohol will do).
New evidence even suggests non-drinkers should take up drinking, in moderation:
Study suggests middle-aged teetotallers should drink
Moderation crucial for health gains
http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/...5-035e20bb66d1
People who do not drink alcohol may finally have a reason to start -- a study published on Friday shows non-drinkers who begin taking the occasional tipple live longer and are less likely to develop heart disease.
People who started drinking in middle age were 38 per cent less likely to have a heart attack or other serious heart event than abstainers -- even if they were overweight, had diabetes, high blood pressure or other heart risks, Dr. Dana King of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and colleagues found.
Many studies have shown that light to moderate drinkers are healthier than teetotallers, but every time the researchers have cautioned that there is no reason for the abstinent to start drinking.
Now there may be, said King.

A person's alcohol consumption is somewhat relative. I just read that middle aged people should have one to two glasses of wine per day ... it's good for the heart. On the other hand, one drink a year is too many if you're an alcoholic.

Alcohol relaxes the blood vessels thus making it benificial in moderation. Large quantities eguals liver damage and liver cancer. And other negative effects.

I exceeded the Canadian Government's weekly allowance while reading this thread.
I should also mention that I've got the Betty Ford on hold. If those jerks want to help me the least they can do is lower their rates a little.
