My later father was notorious for brushing off pains and all. Thought he'd be waisting the GP's time and figured whatever ailments he had would go away in time. It ultimately cost him his life as he ignored the early signs of Colon Cancer.

Yep, sounds like Cancer.

Diagnose yourself on the internet and you always end up at Cancer.

Go see a walk in clinic and get an xray done. If you've broken a bone, the treatment depends on which bone(s) in particular you've broken, but most will be tapped to the adjacent healthy toes +/- crutches. However, some types of foot breaks may require surgery or pin fixation, and will get worse without appropriate treatment.

The only way to properly assess it, is to get an X-ray.

Well, based on a recent episode of House...

Your toe could be broken, in which case left undiagnosed, your male lover will have to drink your urine, and then proceed to drill a hole in your head...but otherwise, the prognosis is good.

Haha wise guy

The toe does look pretty sick. Though I think if I walked on it enough, I could have gone to Marmot Basin today. (Had to back out of the trip at the last minute, I figured I still could have gone last night since I was gonna finish the game, if it wasn't my soccer kicking foot.)

Bump, so I have a game tonight. The toe is still bruised, but I have decent mobility on it. Any suggestions for what I can do so I can play tonight? I don't suppose there is such thing as a toe brace or anything (like a knee brace or ankle brace so I wouldn't make my knee or ankle any worse).

Sit this game out and let things heal properly.

We should start a pool.

Phanuthier Toe is:

- Sprained
- Bruised
- Broken
- Cancer
- Leprosy
- Induced via Homosexual Relationship the details of which shall remain undisclosed.

Now everybody throws in like 10 bucks and when he goes to the doctor we'll determine the winner.

I'll collect the money.

Who wants to write odds?

Well its not that, but my ribs did hurt this morning...

It was just a sprain, so the toe is still pretty blue and it is pointing in the right direction. But I went for a short run yesterday and it looks like it works. I just won't be taking any free kicks tonight.

What is with the recent spate of "diagnose me over the Internet"? Is this some kind of code, like "big toe may be broken" is "our agents are in place for the coup" or something?

Seriously, if I get some kind of painful injury, I either go see the doctor, or suck it up until the infection bloats the affected body part enough that I can do some home amputation. What did you people do before the Internet, accost random strangers?

I'd say that pretty much tells us all we need to know about this dubious venture.
