Don't laugh, if you pay for drinks with your credit card and your driver's licence is scanned into their system they have enough information to steal your identity for the purposes of optaining loans from banks. Now I'm not saying that Penny Lane is the business to do this, however should an establishment that does such practices be owned by a criminal organization like the HA for instance, they'll have no qualms about using your info. Good on this guy for fighting this.
In fact law enforcement doesn't put as much focus on organized white collar crime like that due to the fact that people don't get physically harmed in anyway from it and usually things get sorted out and insurance covers the bank. It's a royal pain in the a_$ should your identity get stolen and your credit ruined until things are sorted out. (Source: My roomate's a peace officer who delves into these things)
