I heard if you trace over the permanent marker with an eraseable marker, you can actually wipe it all off. I've never done it myself, but my brother says he's seen it work before, so I dunno. I have no idea how that works.

Anyone know where to get the whiteboard hangers?

I bought one a while ago and have lost the hanger which screws to the wall. Expo (who made the board) has been of no help.

Any ideas?

TIA

Make one out of a paper clip. Works like a charm.

I've decided to merge the threads as there's new questions in the newer thread.

I remember the days when you didn't have to worry about being fata'd on a 3 month old thread.. sigh.

At any rate I'll try the tracing over method and let you know if that actually does work... I'll assume that the permanent ink needed to have been noticed within minutes, not weeks (guy wrote on board, went on holidays and discovered his mistake when he returned).

I have seen the permanant marker used on white boards at my work fairly often. However my personal favourite was the guy who wrote on a prjector screen with permanant marker. Not one line then somebody corrected him; he filled the dang thing.

I seem to recall for the white boards they used Goo-Gone to get it off.

Update: It worked. I was surprised. I went to my co-workers desk and we gave it a try and it worked. He read that you trace over the ink, and it didn't work. So I grabbed the pen, and threw it away because he was using a permanent ink marker again. I then grabbed a dry erase pen, and thoroughly scribbled over the permanent ink and the permanent ink was gone when we erased it. We actually had to repeat a couple of more times to perfectly get rid of it, but it works.

Yes. They can be several hundred dollars, depending on the size.

My personal favourite are the jackasses that use such markers on SMART boards. Doubly so since the one we have is in the Senior Management board room... and the fish-craps drew around the note we posted saying not to use markers of any kind on the board.

Idiots.

I'll give it a try, but I don't think it'll be strong enough.
