As far as I'm concerned, everybody actor gets a "gimmie" gig at some point, and Scheider's is Seaquest.
Therefore, Seaquest never happened.

What is wrong with Seaquest? It was a good show, sort of a failed, lower budget attempt at a very 90s Star Trek under the sea. It just never had the ratings to develop anything and the network was anxious to push it into a more exciting style that it was never meant for (thus Seaquest 2032 with Micheal Ironside). It just kept changing too much with character overturn for anything solid to develop. Growing up, for me, this was the first role I saw Schneider in and he was always very dignified and very good at his role, probably moreso than many Star Trek captains which had much crappier shows.
