Best to go out with a legacy and be remembered. Maybe money can do that for you, but not necessarily so.
I'm not sure the ability to buy a sports car or a nice house is as fulfilling as being remembered, but that's just me.

I'd like to have b-list celebrity. Famous enough to go on game shows and reality TV like Celebrity Apprentice. That would be a hoot.

Well, you forgot the third option. Would you rather be rich, famous or an urban black youth from Toronto. I'd choose black dude from Toronto so I could go to an afro-centric school and then move on to Harvard and get my doctorate in "business physics inventions" and then become both rich and famous.

I'd rather be omnipresent so I can be here and there all at once. That way I can rob a bank, go on a date, sleep, eat food, take a long dump, watch TV, surf the internet, throw eggs at the neighbour's cat, and yell at the clouds...all at once.

I wouldn't mind being "famous" within a select group of people. Like say, someone like Leonard Cohen. He's famous, but doesn't get mobbed and disrespected like a pop star.

I love my privacy so i guess being famous is out of the question.
Rich would be nice too. Problem with that is every blood sucking leech that exists would be hounding me day and night looking for money to get their version of Ron Popiels pocket fisherman going.
I think i'll stay poor and be a nobody

I agree. I'm a pretty private person so I'd hate all the attention. I understand the reasoning some guys have mentioned for pros of being famous: that of having an easy time getting girls. But to be famous simply for the sole reason to be remembered - especially instead of alot of money...why?? Who cares about being remembered? Meh, I guess I just don't get it...

The problem with money is you'd never know if she loved you or was merely tagging along for the moola. You'd also be looking over your shoulder all the time to see if she's cheating on you. Not my kind of life.

It's delicious that simply by me posting here at 3:05 on a Friday morning, it's pretty likely I'll never be either.
But I'd pick famous.

Being famous costs too much . . . . in terms of what you lose in your personal life.
However, an interesting question:
How rich do you have to be before you sensibly need to hire security/bodyguards to protect yourself and loved ones from the threat of kidnapping?
OR
How famous/rich do you have before you sensibly need to hire security/bodyguards to protect yourself and loved ones from fans/nutbars and the threat of kidnapping?
I would think you would need to engage security sooner with "rich/famous" versus simply "rich."

Who was it that said "You can get rich or famous without trying, but not both" ?
I'd chose rich for sure. I hate being in the spotlight.

Rich. I'd kinda like to go on vacation with just my family and not the 50 paparazzi tailing me.

Can't the same be said for the famous side? There are just as many spotlight whores out there as there are money whores.
I'd rather be rich than famous, but I'd rather be happy than rich.

I'm pretty content with who I am. I can honestly say I wouldn't rather be anyone else in the world. Out of those two options i'd go with rich, but it's not necessary. Wouldn't want to be famous in most senses of the word...unless it was for some kind of huge scientific discovery. That would be cool. Then you wouldn't have the teeny boppers and paparazi around to deal with. You'd only have smart people recognize you.

Rich, no question. And if I had to be famous to be rich, I'd settle for middle class anonymity.
