That was incredibly depressing.

The footage of his son as Michael recounted "consummating" with his son's wife was horrifying.

Ya that was VERY strange...you could tell his son was hurting, and the wife was just...well hypnotised!

When people tell me the world is coming to an end and we're all going to die, all I can say is "When?"

What happens when/if they give you an answer?

I don't think anyone can take any answer seriously considering how many times people have been wrong about it.

Heheh, I know, but the way he mentioned what he did I was wondering if there was a step 2 in his plan/retort. Perhaps a really funny one?

It's that or he didn't think his cunning plan all the way through.

OK, a serious thought for a moment though. I wonder what these cult leaders really think deep down on the inside. Do they know they are taking advantage of people, or are they so deluded that they actually think what they are doing is right?

Do they suffer from illnesses like dementia or schziophrenia, or is it all just ego?

My guess would be that the majority suffer from mild delusions, that when they get validated by their congregation and such, they eventually build into a new personality that takes over. They may know better deep DEEP down, but like most people who are sick (and I use the term loosely, not as an excuse by any means) they prefer to stay inside their delusions where they are an important figure.

Knowing CC, he probably convinced them that it was the next day, and they all went and killed themselves.

I can wish, right?

I think a lot of it has to do with power....having control over people.

But they HAVE to be mentally ill. Can you imagine a sane person willfully forcing people to commit suicide with him?

Sorry I stole the line from blazing saddles.

[Jim downs a bottle of whiskey in one long guzzle]
Bart: A man drink like that and he don't eat, he is going to DIE.
Jim: [eagerly] When?

Liberty? I thought they were saying "trick or treat". It was Halloween.
