Wind chill factor usually goes below -40 at least once per winter.
I still loathe using a temperature for wind chill factor. Temperature of -44 with no wind feels way different than the wind chill the way it is now. Plus it gets people saying things like "Got to -44 tonight." or "It's supposed to go down to -44 tonight" when wind chill is very different than temperature.

Agreed. Every single time I talk to my mom about the weather, I have this exact conversation:
me: "What's the temperature?"
her: "-20 with the windchill."
me: "I don't care about the windchill. I asked what the temperature is."

I'm glad for days like these that my employer's office is practically in a field with no plugins.

Word of warning, if you need to plugin your car and you think "how long could it take, I won't wear gloves" WEAR GLOVES

I'm not relishing the idea of my normal bike ride to work. At least it'll be 1/2 as long as walking.... Lets see what this Summit Series Goretex and 900 loft down will do...

I have a good friend who rides to work also. However when it's this cold he uses transit.

I'm thinking about going for a run tomorrow around 5 - 6pm. I bought a lamp for my head (been running all January at night without one and figured I should get one) and also picked up one of those robber style hats/neck thingy's so I can go when it gets really cold out. But I was thinking -15 to - 20. Is it too cold in this weather?

I couldn't open the hood of my car tonight, and the plug is inside the hood, so it's about a 50/50 shot whether or not I can start the car tonight. It's never let me down before, but damn, it's cold out there tonight.

Well, with the windchill it is around -45 right now, so exposed skin will freeze in about 3-5 minutes.

At least this started on a Sunday. Hopefully a few of the weak cars out there will have already succumbed in some Darwinian effect, and not in the left lane of Crowchild at 7:45am.
I have this dream that work will email and say - work's cancelled! Stay home!
Sigh.....

Nothing! Unless you count lumps of solid frozen meat in your fingertips.
