I was at the Monte Carlo!
Well I just got back from Las Vegas last night and I was staying at the Monte Carlo hotel. Luckily my wife and I were just packing our stuff in our hotel room and getting ready to check out as the fire broke out. We had stayed at the hotel since Monday, and on two separate occasions the fire alarm went off, once at 1am and another time at 8am. They both turned out to be nothing. So when we heard the fire alarm go off we just kind of ignored it. Over the speakers in the hotel, it just said the situation was being investigated. As we were packing I turned through the channels and then I saw our hotel on fire on TV! That was quite a shock. So we threw everything we had in our bags grabbed our passports and ran down the stairs. It wasnt till we were at the ground floor we could hear over the alarm stating to people to evacuate the hotel. Their were police and security outside directing us where to go. They took us over to the New York New York hotel which was next door, they gave us water and some snack bars. At this point it was 12pm, we walked through the hotel and took a cab to take us to the airport. Our flight wasnt till 5pm, but traffic was so backed up on the strip I just wanted to get out of there! So it was an exciting trip!
