Two irrelevant parties combine and make one larger irrelevant party.

Do they realize how freaking hard Comp Sci is?!?!??!!? There is a reason the attrition rate is 75% after the first year of classes. I'm in comp sci now and I get approx. 40 hours a week of HW per computer science course. They even recommend that you only take 2 comp sci courses + 2 options every semester because of the course load.

Whats with all the bashing? We have a new alternative in Alberta. You know, the same Alberta that has been voting for the same party for 30 years? The same party that doesn't bother to even table a platform come election time because they know that they're going to win?

Irrelevent, are they? Well they wont for a government any time soon, but another player on the stage helps keep the other parties in check. I really don't understand why you people are are being such dicks.

Do you realize how stupid it sounds when you disregard having another option. Plus the fact that one of their representatives bothers to come on this board and discuss her party's position on certain things. And y'all want to run her outta here. So that you can keep bitching about the status quo and wonder why nobody bothers to do anything about it.

Bravo CP. Bravo.

ps, (OP) your website could use some work. I assume that'll come when you guys start gathering some support and some cash. Thanks for at least getting your message out there.

Such a stupid and petty thing to mock. I read this and think that they're probably going to offer incentives for people to get into these types of programs. They're not going to show up in grade 12 classrooms with guns and force people to take a BSc.

Give them a chance to evolve a bit. You sound like a kid in grade 4 making fun of the new kid in school. You sound like a fool.

Exactly. Either way, they're thinking. So why don't we just mock the hell out of them. It is the cool thing to do here on CP, afterall.

they don't need to create the spots though is the thing. Comp sci is only has a 50% enrollment rate compared to the capacity.

I agree with you 4X4. I can't understand why people act the way they do in this thread. And bashing the internet site? Come on....They have had a week to put it together. But I guess the wowness of the website determines how well a party would represent the voters.

Well, we are fiscally conservative. The website was accomplished by volunteers working during late hours on top of their full-time jobs and they did it in 5 days.

Yeah, I know that it's water off a ducks back for you. I've already seen it a few times here. Frankly, you wont be getting my vote anytime soon, but I still don't like to see this place degenerate into some kind of schoolyard. I appreciate that you've got the proverbial balls to come here and identify yourself and take this kind of abuse to get your message out. It annoys me that people are so nuckleheaded that they choose to mock that instead of embrace it, regardless of whether they like your platform.

The bashers are doing a service, frankly. The schizophrenic "Heritage Trust Fund" thing alone is enough to make me go Better such things are identified by the nitpickers early, rather than sitting there on the site waiting for a media person or other party to notice it and bring it up during an actual campaign.

Coupled with THIS:

That sounds okay... if it weren't followed closely by THIS one:

"A Wildrose Alliance Government will require crown corporations to be directly accountable to a committee of the Legislature for their financial management and budget plans."

And THIS:

"A Wildrose Alliance Government will institute privatization of crown corporations."

So basically... the Heritage fund belongs to the people, but it would be a crown corporation that is seperate from the government but it would also be directly accountable to the government and it would be privatized!! Great!

This is my new favourite party!! Keep up the good work you bunch of wackos!
I will preface this with; I am not a policy wonk and this is my own take on the intent of these items.

It does not say we will privatize all crown corporations.

Crown corporations serve a purpose; when they serve all citizens.

Crown corps that only serve a select few and even lose money (which effects all taxpayers); should be privatized.
Magcan and Novatel comes to mind.

And if there are going to be a crown corp it should be "directly accountable to a committee of the Legislature".
The government is elected by the people and represents the people. They have a duty to monitor the investment and use of taxpayers dollars; they could only do this with a crown corporation; if it were privatized they lose that access to information.

No.

Not that long ago the PC's had 3 MLA's who are LDS. (Ian McClelland, Greg Melchin, and Broyce Jacobs)

Did it affect their policies?

Brian Henninger is LDS, is that why he lost Calgary - Elbow by-election?

Our members determine policy. Each member gets one vote. Pretty simply.

Oh no please don't misunderstand... I was mocking the MESSAGE itself. I am very happy that the poster alerted me to the message. I love the fact that the poster had the "proverbial balls" to come here and get the message out... so that I could mock it.

Hmmm, I think a better name for your party would be "Angry that Alberta isn't like it to used to be, but really we're angry that we are no longer young and you city folks are too damn urban and modern for our liking". Truth in advertising might even get you more than that 5% of the vote you'll garner from the farmers and neo-nazis.
