Wow. Minute 5:20 is the best when he starts talking about wanting to go on vacation.

I couldn't watch more than two minutes. What a useless, ill-advised rant.

As an Atheist this stuff scares me, Scientology is a 'degree' of belief and no matter what degree people are on be it scientology, christianity, mormonism, bhuddism, etc.. Its still on that scale.
I don't get how a religious person watches that and doesn't see at least a part of themselves in it, because ultimately all he is doing is having strong convictions in his own faith and spreading the word of his gospel.
So if you do believe in a god and mock Scientology, isn't at least part of you hypocritical?
But ultimately, this is such a laughable joke when he talks, because he doesn't have the balls to ever challenge people in debate, just talk to them about why they should believe.
If he ever had the guts he'd sit in a conference of psyhologists and debate how he knows better than them, or a free thinkers conference made up of scientists, atheists, etc.. But he'd also get nothing but grief there either.
His logic can't stand up, his cowardice is hiding behind his strong faith/conviction.
He's weaker than most people would ever be, and he's so delusional to believe he's the one who gets it. Certainly we know what psychological condition that falls under

Tom Cruise is now the second-in-command of Scientology, correct? He could be around doing this for a loooong time.

Whether or not they're lying about their numbers, I love that bit just for how they say he's introduced it to 'people of Earth'.

Goes to show what happens when you found a belief or religion on a bet for money.
But my god the man is almost hypnotic in his rant.
I'm ready to sign up, give me my moon boots and my rocket ship, and I am so there with Xenu.

He won't be around that long if he keeps this kinda stuff up. Either he'll be blacklisted by equally religous people of another faith, or some equally convicted wingnut will make an example of him........
I agree with what Thor said, and further to that, it's ironc that the only people who can "ignore" him are likely athiest. They can see the utter lunacy from a lodgic standpoint, not from lack of belief in "My God" standpoint.
I feel happy for Tom Cruise that he has something he can get so excited about.. At the same time, I feel sad for him that he needs to be so vocal about his beliefs to feel some kinda of justification...

I know many many people that believe whole heartedly in one faith or another and NONE of them babble incoherently like Cruise. Nor do any of them try to force there beliefs on me beyond inviting me to a meeting or something. If i choose not to attend the matter is dropped as if it never happened. They are not fanatics.
Cruise comes off as a fanatic in that video.

Scientology: The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power.
Ruined lives. Lost fortunes. Federal crimes. Scientology poses as a religion but really is a ruthless global scam -- and aiming for the mainstream
This famous article critical of Scientology has been the target of an organized book-burning campaign by Scientologists as detailed in the Scarff deposition. The piece was awarded the Gerald Loeb Award for distinguished business and financial journalism, the Worth Bingham Prize and the Conscience in Media Awards from the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

That video made the Most Discussed list on YouTube, and it obviously drew their attention pretty fast. Of course, it's probably being re-posted a few dozen times, now. I followed a few related videos around last night, and found some pretty interesting ones. I'll see if I can dig them back up.
Edit:

This is the one I found particularily interesting. Note the three gentlemen trying to bully the cameraman, and doing their best to try and find his "weakness" so they can undoubtedly exploit it. It's no secret that they use certain techniques like that to destroy your confidence and self impressions to make it easier for them to, in a word, brainwash you.

This one is long, and was filmed back in the mid-90's, but it does a good job of exposing some of the insaneness of Scientology. Worth the watch if you've got the time. Also note the standard "Get them in the door, and destroy their confidence" brand of recruitment.
