The only beef I might have is that you can see on the white jersey where the stitching on the red portion has "leaked" onto the gold... no such "leakage" has happened on the white stitching for the red jersey -- not sure if it is related to the problem described above but it doesn't look as clean from up close.

From afar, you probably can't notice the difference, so if there is nothing you can do about it, I wouldn't sweat it.

Well of course it has, otherwise, the lettering would fall off. The same process has happened in the second jersey, but with the stitches being so close together that you can not see any gaps, you do not see any so called leaking.

The biggest thing is probably the "bad" one is red stitch visible on gold while the "good" one is white stitching that is easily more invisible on gold.

The small version of the genuine 80s jerseys (which were small) fit me fine. Almost all modern made "vintage" is only in M and L and XL, etc. and is riduclous ginourmous on me.
I think you're right.. I haven't see a small or youth size vintage jersey for sale anywhere.

A few years back the Hall of Fame and other sport/vintage used to sell sweater style Vintage Flames jerseys that came in youth-adult sizes. Brand was Stall/Dean or Ebbetts Field(sp?)
Used ones sometimes come up on eBay.

No, what I meant by "leaking" is that you can actually see the zig-zag stitch marks (i.e. the thread) overlapping from red onto the gold. If you compare it to the other jersey, the white zig-zag stitching does not overlap onto the gold. The lettering will not fall off if you do not overlap them...

Well, the leaking is uniform throughout. I really think it is all to do with the fabric of the jersey. When a fabric is lightweight, you can not use as much stitching on the letters or it can pucker and look wrinkled, the full satin stitching would be too heavy for the fabric.

And when you can not do full stitching, what happens is you have more "cut" fabric exposed. If it is not stitched with a bit of so called "bleeding", that exposed cut fabric is going to start to fray and have a fuzzy or unravelled look. So I think they have had to do a bit of everlap to prevent that from happening. But from what I can see on the posted pic, it seems uniform and even throughout.

Now if the buyer is still truly unsatisfied, I would suggest going to a good seamstress that has an alteration shop. I would try "Anna's", she has a shop in the strip mall at the corner of 90 Ave & 24 St SW, right by the entrance to the south part of Glenmore park. She is excellent, has altered many Flames jerseys, not sure if she has touched up stitching but you could certainly take it there and ask for an opinion.
