Just got back in from a short jaunt down to Fish Creek Park to take advantage of the weather. It was still nippy with the wind and all.

Got some good shots, but I also wanted to play around with some filters I got at Christmas, so we'll see how that turned out. I am tempted to get another lens, but I am not sure if it would be that great of an idea.

Sorry for small derail of thread:

I want to do some marco photography and am wondering if I should get a lens specifically for macro? I don't know if it would increase what I can view or not, I better look up some of the camera optics before going out with my money.

I was at Castle Mountain today. Jeeeeez it was windy. It was to the point where if a whole bunch of snow was blowing in your face at the top it actually hurt

Well get ready for some more. It seems like you guys start getting high winds a day or so after I get them here, and I'm getting storm warnings almost everyday. Right now it's blowing from the NW bringing cold temperatures. I can hear the surf pounding from about 100' below and 100' away, and cones and branches from a fir tree landing on my roof. Hope there's no damage and I don't lose my electricity again.

You think that's bad? My entire *house* is shaking (albeit only slightly) with the wind right now, but it was enough to wake me up and start checking for damages. Amazingly I slept through what sounds like a really noisy windstorm, but now I have no idea how I'm going to get back to sleep.

You must live in a more protected area, because where I am in West Springs the wind was pretty bad last night...

The wind down south is probably running at 70-steady. Unbelievable.

It would be about 34 degrees out if it shifted back from the west.

We're on the side of a west-facing hill with nothing between us and the mountains so it was quite ferocious last night . . . . yet I slept the sleep of the dead!! I think I got used to it a while ago.

However, it was quite refreshing and hair-raising to do the in-out, in-out of opening and closing my gate for my vehicle this morning.

Truthfully, I've seen it worse. A lot worse.

There are a lot of dumpsters in my neighborhood because of the new homes being built. Any kind of refuse on the job site that isn't at the bottom of the dumpster is now all down the street. Lucky for me, we have a long fence that runs parallel to the street so we'll no doubt have an awesome collection of home construction crap to clean up this afternoon.

got a nice push into work this morning, though I'm hoping for the winds to die down this afternoon as it'll be a hellish bike ride home if the velocity continues to be 30+km/h.
