Have you, or anyone else that has seen the flick, read the book? I'm wondering how well the book was adapted to the big screen. Hope it was better than the Bourne franchise.

Well I don’t see many movies so when I do get a chance I make sure it was gotten good reviews which is the reason why I saw this movie in the first place
Acting was very mediocre
The monotone narration was irritating
There was nothing really special about the plot or the story to me…an over emotional kid runs from his parents divorce
The little stint with the girl was probably the most forced thing I have ever witnessed
I was expecting to see some nice shoots of the Alaskan out outdoors but all we got was a camera two inches from the guys face the majority of the time
Very very big disappointment I even caught myself laughing certain points…talk about a movie that took itself way to seriously

His work is never gonna win awards, but he knows how to blow up and does it better than a lot.

I just saw "I am Legend" and I actually thought it was pretty good. I didn't really want to see this simply because I figured it would be Will Smith running around NY for a couple hours, but it was well done and he certainly captures your attention. He delivered a solid performance in this one. Quite impressive.
I wasn't overly impressed with the way they did the ending, not what actually happens, more just the way they delivered it. I can't really explain why without ruining the ending though, so I won't.
Bottom line though, I would recommend seeing it.

What? You're nuts. Yes Michael Bay makes terrible movies and going into Transformers I was afraid he was going to ruin my childhood. But I must give someone props for good work and he rocked that movie. Transformers was a fantastic movie, to the point that when there were rumors about Michael Bay not directing the second movie, I was upset. But he is, and I'm happy.
He stayed true to the series. You may not like the series itself but you have to give him props for that.

Good to see Before the Devil Knows your Dead get some accolades. It and No Country were definitely my top movies of the year.

Bleh. Talk about derailing a good thread about a great movie, No Country for Old Men.
How the hell did Michael Bay get involved in this?

Because you brought how bad Transformers was. You only have yourself to blame here.

Enough about Michael Bay.
No Country For Old Men is just great and I can't wait to see it again (I'm going to get my friends out to see it this weekend).
Juno is another one I will see ASAP, hope it comes out soon.
Edit: According to wikipedia, Juno has a general theatrical release date of December 25, 2007.

You'll defend Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2, The Island, and Armageddon?
Hell, the Rock was cool as a kid and the whole "Go home and F the prom queen" line is still funny, but it's not that good.

And agreed with Nehkara, I can't wait to see many movies on the last but have little time at all to see the new big movies out.
Can't wait to see No Country for Old Men, Sweeny Tood, Juno, and I am Legand

The Island was very underrated and yeah, Bad Boys 2 sucked. But the Rock, Armageddon and Bad Boys were solid ACTION movies, not solid films that I would nominate for Oscars, solid ACTION movies.
But I agree, enough about Mike Bay, I like him, you don't. Move on,
No Country was awesome.

LOL...
Die Hard, True Lies, Sin City, 300, The Matrix, Terminator, Indiana Jones are examples of good action movies. Michael Bay's action movies mainly appeal to the helmeted short bus crowd that can scream "LOOK AT DA EXPLOSION!!!" while drooling and soiling themselves.

Debateable.
To each their own I guess... I'm not myself usually a fan of Michael "How Many Edits Can I Cram Into One Movie Before Everyone Becomes Epilipetic" Bay flicks but I thought Transformers was a good time (despite the fact that I now have epilepsy).
Interested to see if No Country piles up the hardware; the big awards are usually just a political farce. When I saw that Michelle Pfeiffer was making a comeback starting with Hairspray or whatever she was in this year, I said, "Mark my words, Michelle Pfeiffer will have a Best Actress Oscar within 3 years." Watch it happen.

I agree, the movie was a little overrated, was morseo trying to find some recent examples. I suppose the Paul Giamatti/Clive Owen flick would've been a better example.
