When you have any other team in the world fined 100 Million$ for cheating, then you can consider them on par with Formula 1.

Hockey is a niche sport.
Could not the same be said of football and baseball? Certainly, they are much better draws in North America, but baseball and the NFL outside of this continent barely register on most radars. In Europe, the "real" football, cricket, and even formula one all get better coverage than anything that happens across the Pond. I would expect the case is much the same in China and India where most of the world lives; places that I guarantee have never even heard of the Edmonton Oilers, and probably not even the Dallas Cowboys.

That's weird, I thought by revenue it went Man. U, then Washington Redskins, then Yankees...

Edit: Also this list shows the Oilers as the least valuable franchise of all lol.

So, if everyone hates the list so much, who would you drop from it? I don't know if I could come up with a top ten but my top five would probably be:

5. Celtics
4. Montreal Canadiens
3. Ferrari
2. Real Madrid
1. Yankees

Maybe Ferrari is a big name, but how many of you really now who even won the formula 1 champuionship in 2007? Since these lists are made in north america, formula 1 will never be on them.

And motorsports isn't even a sport, that's why we Finns don't choke on them like in all the real sports. Maybe Hockey shouldn't be called a sport anymore so we one day could win something.

This list is crap. For instance:

Quote:
Man U has become both a competitive and marketing juggernaut. It is the third-most valuable sports franchise in the world, at $1.453 billion.
Yet you ranked them seventh? Fail.

Quote:
The most valuable franchise in the world, the Cowboys are valued at $1.5 billion by Forbes
Yet ranked fifth by you. Have you some issues with counting from one to 10?

I'd be interested in finding out where he got his numbers though. I was under the impression that Man U. was the biggest sports franchise in the world.

Not to mention he totally ignored F1 and NASCAR forgetting the fact that if we're talking world wide, Cricket is a HUGE sport in India. And they're a fairly big market if I'm not mistaken....

Oilers even made it?

The list is already flawed.
