I think the taz was upstairs from the Castle. Wasn't rebar/apartments/nyla the place next door to it?

Actually I think you're right. IIRC, the Taz had windows at the back.

I grew up in Lethbridge but I got to go to the Republik once. I absolutely loved it. It was the only time I ever heard the Pixies played in a bar. I doubt the new one will be as good but I definitely will have to check it out. I don't think I've been in a bar for like five years!

Venom was directly beside (south) of the now Bamboo. Then it closed and reopened as Shadow.
Going south Next was the night gallery, then the convience store. Beside that, downstairs was the Bermuda Triangle.
Beside that was the rebar, NYLA etc., place like mentioned above. Then the Taz above the castle pub and Cherry is on the corner.

Cherry was Corner Pocket before it opened, but I don't remember there ever being live bands there. I'm convinced he's still thinking of the Gallery.

It wasn't any of the ones mentioned, and it wasn't where the Night Gallery was. I'll describe it a bit better to see if anyone can remember. It was almost directly above where Bamboo is now, there were two bars and the one upstairs was where bands would play (you had to go up a spiral staircase to get in) and the one downstairs was more of a pub with a bunch of pool tables in the back, i think it was there right before Rebar went in.
I saw the Smalls play there a few times if that helps anyone.

No, thanks for trying to help. Wish i had a better description but i wasn't sober too often on that street. It was around the time when they opened a bar across the street on the east across from where the Drum is now. Wasn't there too long.

Stones was across the street from the drum. I don;t think it lasted long. I already listed the names of the places I can remember.

It was to the south of the Drum and upstairs, nice place.
Obviously the Republik won't be as good as it once was, in order to do that they would have needed to get rid of Tequila and get it up and running in that place, lots of drunk nights there.

What was it called..Limits or something? saw the smalls there circa '94
