Flames win again
Send the Centre of the Universe into a tailspin
The Calgary Flames playing their second game in a row took on the Mighty Maple Leafs besting the Centre of the Hockey Universe 4-2.
And also for the second game in as many days the hardworking Flames come away with a win! Whats amazing about this..besides winning two games in a row, is that the Flames did it without some of their major talent in the lineup. Missing from tonights game were Eric Daze, Marco Sturm, Scott Stevens and Eric Weinrich.
Flames got help tonight from some other sources. The veteran Joe Nieuwendyk led the team with First Star selection as well as a goal and an assist. Also in the third star selection space, Danius Zubrus with a 2 assists effort.
Flames may finally be hitting their stride. GM Axmann was still saying that he is looking for an offensive D man and has been scouring the countryside looking for a willing trader.
Flames would also like to add another centre to their roster someone that can fill that 3/4 position in the lineup.
The Flames will be playing their third game in as many days against the always tough Minnesota Wild tomorrow night. Returning to the lineup will be Scott Stevens and Eric Weinrich. Fans are invited to the Saddledome to watch the game on the big screen. Every fan will receive a free chicken wing and a personally autographed photo of former Flame great, Neil Sheehy.
Come early as quantities are limited.
