This is almost a poll-worthy thread. I'm too lazy to make one up.

Gesundheit means bless you anyway so why not? Can you say Vous bénisse in French?

In Slovakia they told me to say "skap", no idea how to spell it. They laughed when I would say it. Apparently it is not so nice, means "die!" or something I found out later.

I suppose I may be a bit of a jerk, but I tend to respond to "Bless you" with a quick "Don't push your god on me!". Other than that, I try to stick to a basic "Excuse you".

Yep. Although I will admit that I soft of feel awkward if I'm one of the only person around. I always wonder if the person expects me to say bless you or something

Don't they say 'A tes souhaits' in French? It means "At your wish"

When nobody says anything after I sneeze I say "Bless Me", that gets some funny looks. Which is pretty much what I'm going for.

I thought that Gesundheit meant "Good health to you"?

You're correct.
For me, the more usual thing is "Guð Hjálpi Þér!" When I'm speaking English, I suppose I say Gesundheit more often, it being non-denominational and everything.
I kind of like the Icelandic, though.... it translates as "God Help You!"
