I work with kids with FASD and while you're right they do tend to have problems connecting their present behaviours with future outcomes it is only in severe cases where that disconnect happens.

Sounds more like the early onset of schizophrenia or a disorder of that type (schizo-affective, etc.)

Or just a case of good old fashioned pyschopathy.

Actually, kids who are as messed up as those two probably have multiple system failures, so all of the above might the right answer. They likely have a severely messed up home/parenting environment as well.

Holy ****! Sort of killed... these girls really were completely disconnected from the world if they think you can sort or killing someone.

That's exactly what it sounds like to me. Look at these quotes:

"Sunday morning me and (her) woke up, and we were just talking, and for some reason we just decided to kill her."
"We just did it because we felt like it, it is hard to explain"
"We knew it was wrong, but it didn't feel wrong at all, it just felt right."
"We didn't really expect to get away with it."

Might even be primary psychopathy. It would be interesting to read more background information on these girls.

Yeah, as disturbing as it (obviously) is, I find this stuff facinating. Been studying abnormal personalities and other disorders since university. I'm kinda obsessed with brains and when they go wrong....

I would love to get hold of their case history, assuming there is one.

then maybe its a good thing your not a gamer.....

This may be a stretch in this case, it is possible that they viewed their friend as an ant, insignificant. In some cases, killers possess a level of intelligence that is above many others with a screw loose to boot. But we don't know their backgrounds, were they the quiet ones, exceptionally smart in school or otherwise and just bored overall. Who knows.

We just think that these kinds of cases are on the rise or because of publicity.

Pffft!! Who hasnt thought about murdering their best friend? The thought occurs to me all the time.

Its a good thing hes imaginary or he'd be toast by now....

Honestly though, forget about putting this chick in prison for life, study her. What is it that led to this? Whats missing?

There has to be a reason. I understand the "people are naturally screwed up" argument, but people require a catalyst for this type of action to evolve.

Well adjusted people can stand by and no matter what happens to them nothing will drive them to this type of behaviour. Other people will do it if its too cold outside or that guy on the bus' nose is crooked.
