Ya I have no clue either. But even if you just play the guitar you can still go online Though a lot of people have told me to pass on the game if I only plan on using a guitar with it.
though after seeing that video above, I have to admit playing the drums looks like so much fun - maybe even more than the guitar. Hmmm....

Really? I'm an xbox newbie and don't know much about live. I just went to "played games" , clicked Rock Band, and checked for downloads, with the only options being for a theme and some pics or something. Am I not looking in the right place?

I don't understand these games.
Why don't you guys and your friends just learn how to play the real guitar, the real drums, and then take voice lessons and make a real band? This game isn't realistic at all. You guys must be stupid for liking it.

was this post intended to be sarcastic?
why don't you and your friends just join the military so you can actually go around and kill people?

We're not stupid. We just don't take things way too seriously like other people do.
It's a game. Chill out. People who know how to play real instruments play them too. It's all about having fun.

The same reason that pissy, self-righteous wet blankets don't take the time to use tact before they troll in a topic that they should just butt-out of....it's easier and cheaper.

Just in case you're not being sarcastic:
I guess you play absolutely no video games that involve something you can do in real life.
Lots of people who play these games also play the real instrument(s).
Playing a real instrument takes years of practice. Learning an instrument isn't important enough for many people to make that kind of time commitment. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not like they're deciding to play Guitar Hero (for example) instead of learning an instrument - they weren't going to anyway! Maybe playing these games will inspire them to learn a real instrument.
Anyway, who cares? If you see some people playing Monopoly, do you patronizingly tell them to go buy some real property?

Hulk, just go into the GH3 thread, read posts 9 & 13 and see the responses.
If people have fun then why crap on them. I'd like to try it before I made a judgement.

Wow... you guys suck at sarcasm
Here I thought I'd bring a little of the Guitar Hero conversation and bring it in here as a joke.
I thought I played it up and went over the top enough to make it obvious, but I guess not, instead I get totally piled on.
Maybe I'll just go back and try for the 500th time to finish "Woman" on hard on Guitar Hero II. I have no idea how people finish this thing on expert....

The drumming looks great and very realistic. Can't wait to try. The only thing that seems like it might bother me is the actual noise the drum skins make when you hit them. I'll have to crank the TV or use headphones so I don't hear the noise of beating plastic when I'm hitting my cymbal.
