Are you a teetotaller or a Jehovah's Witness or something? Everytime there is mention, no matter how tame, of someone who has broken the law, taken drugs, done anything even remotely rebellious, done something you haven't, you chime in with a "good riddance to bad rubbish" comment.
Are you this prim in real life?

Sigh,
The truth is two people on E wouldn't fight because E fills you with so much empathy and makes you feel so connected it's hard to have a violent or angry thought. In fact it's nearly impossible. If you were to feel down, you would feel more depressed or sad than angry.
And Scouts illustration, while funny, is probably no where near the truth.
What happened this weekend was probably because of a drug deal gone bad. It WAS gang related, and we all know what's going on with gangs in this city lately.
The fact of the matter is there is violence everywhere and raves, like any place else are not immune. But raves are like a revival of the hippie movement and began about peace love understanding and respect. Like the hippie movement it contined a lot of young peole excited about a new type of music, and just like in the sixties, drugs. But that doesn't mean everyone there is young, I've seen many people in their 30's there and people as old as 60's and 70's. It also doesn't mean everyone there is on drugs.
Although the rave movement is easily 10 years old now, maybe closer to 15, a lot of those values are still in there and often they are safer than other places with nightlife activity.
I mean, Outlaws had a problem on the weekend too. We've heard of problems at just about every bar, nightclub and pub in the city.
And to put the drug thing in perspective, the one drug that does the most damage to families, most damage to people, makes the most people overly agressive and stupid, and most damage to innocent bystanders, is readily available in any bar you go to or any liquor store you want to stop at. Packaged all prettily and price artificial raised so the government can profit off it too.

Actually yeah I am..... I guess I don't like the rave culture and what it promotes in terms of drug use, something which should not be encouraged in our society in my view. Although I don't think I wished death on anyone (good riddance to bad rubbish comment), I just don't agree with some peoples choices.

I went to two in my lifetime, and both gave me a pounding headache and an urge to jack all those unattended wallets sitting on the side. Hell you could find people's drugs and sell it back to them at an inflated rate! hahaha.....I wouldn't do that, but it was so damn tempting at the time I tell you =)
I think drugs ruined the scene, but you also have to be a trooper to attend those things. Its mostly teenagers anyways, half of which are looking to score. It's also about $30 bucks a pop to go, which if I wanted to dance all night and STILL get home at a decent time to get some sleep I'll just go to bar.

I admit I've never been to a rave (because you know how many come to those small towns!)
Would be cool to go to one I think, but just to see. I like the music (I like pretty much any kind of music that don't have someone screaming into a microphone or is named LFO). I think it would be an experiance to go to one, mind you knowing my personality I don't think it'd be something I'd do more than once, or maybe once in a blue moon sort of thing.
As for the effects of "E" I don't really know, I only know what I've seen on TV. And you know how reliable that is. If it's a sidebar on CSI it must be true
Mind you I'm with MMM on the fact that if it eliminates a drug scene, good riddence. Is there anything wrong with doing illegal drugs? Some would argue the drug, some would say undoubtably yes.
I don't want to turn this into a "are drugs good or bad" debate, as well the answer is both.
I was overtired doing that skit last night, and realized as I did it I was making them get along to well to fight, hence the out of the blue Raver 1 kicks Raver 2. Maybe "e" makes you do random things? Alcohol can make you a lover and not a fighter, it can also make you a fighter and not a lover. I'd assume maybe extacy is the same way?

Alcohol and E aren't comparable at all. Bad assumption. They have very different effects.
In my experience alcohol is the only drug that can make people physically aggressive, confrontational, super p*ssed off, violent, etc.

I think the bigger question is why is one drug (alcohol) considered to be legal and generally accepted while other drugs that have a similar magnitude of effect are not? Especially when it appears to hamper reflexes moreso than some of the others and can make people more aggressive/violent? There are good and bad points with most drugs and alcohol is no exception and yet for some reason the lawmakers have made it an exception.
I'm not saying we should make drugs like marijuana legal but I don't see why alcohol is treated differently. Obviously there's a historical precident. Other than that I don't see any rationale as to why alcohol shouldn't be as restricted as other drugs.

Yeah I don't know any people that do those regularly so my experience with them is limited.

yeah, my assumption was based on the fact that alcohol has the opposite effect on some people
for example: I become happy go lucky, outgoing, I'm always smiling (so I'm told) when I'm double fisting I'm told I have a sheepishly evil grin on my face like a kid that just got two cookies when he knows he only supposed to have one, and I like everyone, will share a drink with anyone, and become an all around good guy (as opposed to my usual shy assholish shelf.... anyone else find it odd that you pronounce "holy" in the word assholish"?)
