Most certainly, a lover of his or her vehicle will plug it in. I am merely offering an alternative.

Just to be clear, there are two (that I know of) kinds of block heaters. The 'OG' style pan warmer and the newer one that heats the water (antifreeze) and as a by-product, warms the engine and oilpan.
Both are much more effective when activated more than an hour before startup.

My way works for me.
