Or perhaps you are willing to defend someone who (allegedly) perjured himself simply because he is high profile?

Just because he's Barry Bonds doesn't mean there is a vendetta.

Vendetta? Ulikely. I doubt any of the prosecutors even know Bonds personally.

Is he a "big" name? Obviously. That however doesn't mean that they shouldn't prosecute to the fullest extent possible.

They are treating him like they would anyone else who perjures themselves to a grand jury. It shouldn't be any other way.

the bigger implication is what does baseball do about him if/when he is convicted?

I think another aspect of this many overlook is that the feds claim to have test results showing Bonds was positive for anabolic steroids. Something he has claimed he never used to Selig's face IIRC. If this is in fact true, thn I believe baseball has an open book to disallow everything he has done from about 98 on.

Here is stat that should have people understanding how ridiculous what he accomplished..

Barry Bonds AFTER the age of 35 (two years after he allegedly started using PED) hit more home runs than Roger Maris did in his career.

WHat the steroid era has done is taint entirely the record books of a sport that has been around well over a century. Its both sad and infuriating.
