Jeter is for the most part consistent while A-Rod has wonderful regular seasons and then tanks in the playoffs.
I am not debating that his playoff performances have been Turco-ish but Jeter is FAR from perfect but the NY Media seems to think he is. If Arod makes an error its on the front page, if Jeter makes an error he gets a bye because he won a championship and MVP...what 7 years ago? Talk about living in the past!

A-rod is not the only reason that team loses in the playoffs, how can you blame him for a TEAM blowing a 3 game lead in a championship series.

If the Yankees win its because Jeter, but if they lose its because of A-Rod...its a complete joke of an organization there. A-rod would be doing himself a favor by leaving.

how is a report official? I bet it will happen and he will regret it within the first 2 years but I wouldn't call it official

As long as I get to see A-Rod as a Yankee next year when when I go, I'm happy.

Wow. A-Rod's career earnings will probably eclipse half a billion dollars

Good on the former Cannon!

I find it funny that people call out his post season performance and neglect to mention that they wouldn't even have got to the post season if it wasn't for him carrying the team for two months.

He played for the Calgary Cannons? Cool. Anyone ever see him play when he was there? Jason Giambi played for the Trappers at one point. I wish the PCL was still around up here, I'd take more advantage of it these days.

I saw him hit a grand slam when he played for Tacoma against the Cannons here in Calgary. It was a real defensive battle. 15-12 or something like that. Had to feel bad for the pitchers in the tin can they call a ball park here.

Billy Beane mentions Calgary in his book about how it used to ruin pitchers.

As soon as Rodriguez arrived at spring training this year, he took a new approach. He finally admitted he no longer was best buddies with Yankees captain Derek Jeter, ending a charade that had gone on for three seasons.
Does anyone know why they aren BFF's anymore?

From things I have read/heard is that they never really were friends, more just two guys on the same team trying to be good buddies. I just think both have big egos and don't like to share the spotlight.

Actually they were very good friends they used to work out all the time in Florida in the off-season. A-Rod in a magazine article while he was on the Rangers when comparing himself to Jeter said that teams don't worry about Jeter beating them he was only a number two hitter unlike himself.

Watching them this past season, it seems as if they have patched things up as they seemed to joking around with each other alot more than past seasons.
