Theres a load of cool museums in Ottawa. Depending on when u get into Ottawa on Thursday, u could get into a lot of the museums for free (For a majority of the museums, thursdays ARE free)
The royal mint (not free) might be worth a look as well, or take a nice hike long hike along the rideau river or ottawa river...
BTW... I don't think u can watch the remembrance day celebrations on Parliament hill, but u can watch close to it... its really cool experience.
Just wondering, where are you staying? that way I can get some sort of indication of what u're close to.
