I really wonder what free-range buffalo would taste like though.

I know this (cute) girl in Edmonton and she claims it's very good. She does live in Edmonton though, so take it for what it's worth.
I have had buffalo meat and it is delicious. [/b][/quote]
Yep, Buffalo is really tasty. There's a burger joint in Raymond that I would eat at whenever I was working in the area, and you have a choice between beef and buffalo. But there's nothing like a tender Moose steak...mmmmmmm.

Okay, I don't think any of you are gettting the point. No one is actually saying come out and hunt a cow for sport. The idea is that the guy doesn't want to sell his cows to a slaughterhouse becuase he isn't getting paid hardly anything for them. So he wants to let people come out and kill thier own cow and take it home. Hell, I'll bet he'd even be willing to kill it for you. The reason he's getting in trouble is that he isn't lisenced to sell meat (As it has to be inspected). The guy is trying to sell his cows for meat for a greater price than he can get elsewhere, it's not as though he is trying to actually intice people into thinking this is a great hunting experience.
I think we do get the farmer's plight in the matter. That's not what I'm talking about. The problem here is how it is preceived by other people. Obviously, this does not look good for the farmer. By stating that the invitation is open to "Hunters" implies that this is a hunting sport. I think that's what's causing the confusion here. It conjures up an image of a hunter sitting on the sidelines trying to nail a stationary animal, and not because the farmer is trying to remedy his fiscal burden.

I'm pretty sure any referecne the guy makes to hunting cows is just a little bit toung and cheek.
That's the problem with reading articles on the net. What may be obvious to you isn't the case for everyone.
