Predators are officially the hottest team in the CPHL with their 5th straight win.

Congratulations to Samuelsson on scoring his first goal of the season.

Unfortunately Sanderson was injured by a vicious boarding by Montador. We have long memories...

BROADSTREET BROADCAST

Blame a plenty in Pittsburg

November 15, 2004

In yet another shoddy effort by the Philadelphia Flyers 2 points managed to slip from the teams grasp. In the past two contests versus the Penguins the Flyers have come away with 1 point.

Flyers Gm was quick to hand out scolding comments, "You know, I'd love to blame this one on Kevin Wanks, but I can't. I don't understand what happened to these guys. It's like they've been eating too many Philly Cheese sandwiches." Lemmon continued by naming a few names after tonights game, "Guys like Scott Walker, Radovan Somik, and Marty Reasoner need to pull their heads out of their collective asses. How do you let the Penguins score on you short handed? With the ice-time we've been giving a guy like Walker, what is he doing for us? Zilch.. Reasoner's gotta get his head in the game too. I won't hesitate to find new homes for these guys if they decide not to play for me. "

Kevin Weekes was finally reached for comment about the current feeling his GM has for him stating "What can I say? Mr. Lemmon is right, I've (expletive deleted) the bed the last few games. He's perfectly right, as for him taking a leak on my hockey card and calling me Wanks, well I guess I'll just have to show him I'm not the loser he thinks I am."

Lemmon responded after the game with "Prove it Kevin. Show me you're not a waste on this team. Show me why you were named goaltender of the week in the first week."

Potential shakeups aside, the Flyers are still sitting in a playoff position after 13 games compiling a record of 7-3-2-1. However strengths over the last few weeks have become weaknesses as the powerplay has suddenly become aneimic, and the penalty killers have taken the week off.

"We recognized a weakness in the PK, and we wanted to strengthen the team defence a bit, that's why we got Rob from New Jersey."

The Flyers went 5-5 on the penalty kill tonight, however that should be taken with a grain of salt considering it was the Penguins powerplay.

Next up for the Flyers are the remodeled Sabres on Thursday night. Robert Esche is expected to get the call in goal, and defenceman Bryce Salvador has been cleared to play after a hip injury held him out of the past two games. Rory Fitzpatrick is expected to be sitting out to make room for Salvador. If the Flyers don't put in a good effort on Thursday some sweeping changes may be seen.

Press Release.

The Ducks keep on flying for GM Halifax Drunk. After a 4-2 win in San Jose the Ducks have improved to 7-4-0-1 on the season.

Shane Doan finally notched his 1st goal this season, then it took only 20 seconds for him to score his 2nd. Doan scored the 2 fastes goals by the same player in Anaheim history. “I felt really good out there, JR set both of them up so well that I couldn’t have missed if I tried.”

Jeremy Roenick appears to like his new line mates as he had 3 assists in the 3rd period, and was named 2nd star.

The promotional “Road Trip” was a huge success as the 8,000 Ducks fans that made the trip to San Jose were all blowing duck calls, you couldn’t even hear the Sharks fans crying. The Duck noise was so loud that ESPN had to adjust their microphones as the TV broadcasters were drowned out.

GM Halifax Drunk is excited about his current team. “I have not seen and team and its fans come together like this since the Calgary Flames last run at the Stanley Cup!” Every transplanted Canadian who now lives in the Anaheim area is coming out to these games. Even some Americans are getting excited about Duck hockey, they are also aware that Emilio Estevez is not on the ice!”

The Ducks head home in hopes to continue the current success as they host the Boston Bruins later this week.

Stars end Losing Streak with a tie against the flames

Dallas,TX- The Dallas Stars finally ended their losing streak as they tied the Calgary Flames 3-3. Stars goaltender Chris Osgood was busy in making 33 saves, good enough for 2nd Star in the game. The Stars were able to get 29 shots on former starter Martin Biron. The special teams finally looked good as they went 2-6 on the PP and held the Flames to a goal in 5 opportunities.

In the first period both teams came out to play and offensively both teams manufactured many chances. The flames ended up in penalty trouble and it ended up costing them. Krys Kolanos and Kip Miller both scored on the PP and the Stars lead 2-0 after the first period. Osgood shut the door and made 14 saves in the period. In the second period the flames countered and tied the game up with goals from Marco Sturm and Jarome Iginla. Ben Clymer then gave the Stars the lead :55 secs into the third on a nice individual play. However with Jaroslav Bednar in the box Eric Daze once again tied the game up and sented it to overtime. The extra period ended up solving nothing and both teams skated off with a hard fought single point.

The Stars next game is on Thursday night against the Pheonix Coyotes. The Coyotes currently have a record of 6-4-1-1 and sit 5th in the Howe Conference. On home ice the 'yotes are dominate with a 4-1 record and the Stars are going to have to be ready to play.

At the risk of being pedantic is a 6 game winning streak not longer? Looking forward to our game tomorrow now! :P
