That was great too. It was the 7th goal, and the entire team erupted like he just scored the overtime winner to win the Memorial Cup.

Hitmen keep rolling. 5-1 win over the Tigers in a game that was much closer than the score would indicate.
12 goals in the last two games, and 11 different goal scorers. This team can beat you with anyone.

Looks like the Hitmen are living up to their pre season rankings by the CHL.

^^ Looking forward to seeing Calgary out here next Friday.
Giants lose 5-4 in OT to a greatly-improved Chilliwack team, who, despite only having 14 shots through regulation (including 1 in the third period, and only at the 19:30 mark), manage to score 5 on Tyson Sexsmith.
New Bruin Brandon Campos had a pair, and Mark Santorelli snapped home the winner from just inside the blue line. Next up: Kelowna (again) on Monday afternoon. Maybe Mark Messier will win the 50/50 here too?

Shame you are going to catch the Hitmen towards the end of a five game in seven night stretch though, 604. Hopefully they will be able to give Vancouver a good show.

Santorelli's a beauty.. My friend knows him from minor hockey (Burnaby Winter Club). Gorgeous shot last night, him and Moller have it goin' again this year.
My only complaint about the Bruins was McCue taking 4 dumb obstruction penalties last night, but the Bruins/Giants season series is shaping up to be a great one! Enjoy the games at your end (and if you make it to the Coliseum, odds are I'll be there too).

<<scratches invisible beard>> interesting...
I went out once last year to see the Ice (gotta root for the hometown), you folks have a nice little rink there!
Hmmm Puustinen with the go-ahead goal I see (this with 2 or so mins left)..

Hitmen win again, 5-3 in Prince George. Already seven points up on 2nd place in the Central, though the Tigers have a couple games in hand.
Interesting that Kisio has almost split Jones and Spence's time in goal evenly. Alternating between the two. Though with the heavy schedule so far, that is almost by necessity.

PG really misses Setoguchi and Drazenovic, I wouldn't expect them to duplicate last year's success by any stretch.
I see the Hitmen are in Kamloops today (Snake if you have the WHL webtv thingy here's your chance to see Puustinen).
We have the Rockets in town (again) this afternoon. Mark Messier's son plays for them, and apparently the Moose won the 50/50 in Everett a week or so ago, hope he's in town today so we can all boo him.

I thought about WebTV, but there is something right about hockey on the radio. Currently 0-0 after one.
I ended up going to Edmonton to catch the Oil Kings this afternoon as well. What the Oilers have done with that franchise so far is just sad. That team isn't even attempting to build an identity of its own. Aside from leeching off the history of a defunct team with the same name and logo, everything in-arena is basically a copy of the Oilers. Same goal horn, same crappy tv/movie cut-scenes on the jumbotron, even the PA announcer announces penalties and goals like the guy who does the Oilers does.
Seriously, give this team an identity of its own. Build something unique! It didn't help that the arena was dead. They announced 4300, but there might have been 2200. Though on a holiday Monday, that isn't really a surprise. No life at all in that building. not even when Fingren had a penalty shot, and not much either when it went to a shootout.

Don't the OKs have really expensive tickets as well?
4-2 Rockets today if ya need it, Lyon Messier didn't play. 5500 on hand at the rink on Renfrew.

Kamloops goalie Justin Leclerc is the story so far tonight. Shots are 29-9 Hitmen but the score is 2-1 Blazers after 2.

Yeah. $29+ tax/fees for sideline tickets, and $25 for the end zones. The Hitmen aren't much better anymore though. $25 for lower bowl, and $20 for upper. I love my Flames season ticket discount.
3-2 Hitmen now, as they continue to dominate, and are finally busting through. Kamloops is falling apart too, taking dumb penalties late.

White with an empty netter, and the Hitmen put this one away.
Calgary moves to 9-1 on the season. Likely going to move back into top spot in the country when the next CHL rankings come out, I would think.

Yikes! I haven't been to a Hitmen game at the 'Dome since '99, and we got seats right next to the glass near the Kootenay bench for 9 bucks!
I thought the Giants charging $18.50 for centre ice seats (which are all sold to sth's anyway) was rough!

Yeah, the Hitmen seriously jacked the price up too. It was $18.50+ tax/fees for all seats other than the club. Attendance will very likely be down this year, but revenue up. I guess that is what matters.
