Yeah big suprise that some guy who goes by the monker "old dirty bas**rd" died at 35 of an overdose.

I do feel sorry that people end up like this guy, almost certainly because of a bad childhood but I have trouble having sympathy for a grown man who was a known deadbeat passing away from a drug OD.

I feel bad that people end up this way, but I say the fewer there are out there the better.

I think that your way of thinking is in the majority Clarkey....as unfortuante as that may sound. The man brought on his own demise.

It amazes me that you guys just seem to judge someone by one side of their stroy. You make it sound like this guy was with the likes of Hitler and Stalin. It's also interesting that most of the ones saying this guy shouldn't be mourned also take a major stance against rap on this board.
Don't do that, now. I hate rap...almost passionately....and I think it's just wrong to step into a thread where people are mourning or remembering someone who died and minimize the guy's life....as well as the loss people may feel. Same thing happened when Rick James passed...who I didn't care for either...and it's kind of sickening.

Might also be important to point out (and I have no clue) but chances are ODB wasn't the product of an ideal upbringing.

I don't think it's even been announced that he died of an O.D. unless I missed something...

SN lets not fool ourselves, drugs killed the guy. He had a heard attack at the age of 35, and was known to use and abuse drugs. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put 2 and 2 together and figure out that drugs killed the guy. An OD isn't the correct term, but drugs killed the man.

actually I think MMM seems very informed....he posted the absolute truth about this guy.....
IF you are a father of a lovely daughter, would you like this man to come knocking on your door at night and ask to take your daughter out?
To be honest I think that MMM is uninformed about most things most of the time. His penchant for labelling someone a criminal and having that totally dominate his view of them is tough to comprehend.

Now saying he posted the absolute truth about the guy is very questionable. He posted the negative things that guy has done throughout his life, which I totally agree is a pretty long and nasty looking list. But, you shouldn't judge someone on only negative things you read about them.

Look, all I'm trying to say that I think its unnecessary to chime in after a guy dies that the world is better off without him. Especially when that isn't the tone of the post.

As for if he came to the door asking for my daughter, a guy with 12 kids from god knows how many different women, not likely. But I wouldn't be breathing a sigh of relief if he dropped dead before they got back to the car either.

What did I post that wasn't the truth. He was arrested for possession (and not just of marijuana), he threatened his wife, he got into altercations with police, hebusted out of a court ordered drug treatment program and was on the lam from the police, he fathered something like 13 children with different women, he was known to be involved with gangs, he was convicted of assault, and was known not to pay child support for the previously mentioned 13 children. He was also accused of honorable actions such as shooting at police officers.

I don't know how you can spin that into him not being a criminal... hell I think I was being quite nice by only refering to him as a criminal the more I think about it.

Isn't that exactly what I said? I was a fan of his music since I was 12 years old... If there is one entertainer who I thought would've been one to die early it was Ol' Dirty... Sadly.

I agree with you, I was just arguing the over dose cause of death which was brought up above.

Also for those talking down on the guy, he wasn't all a bad guy... sure he's no saint but I'm guessing many of you didn't know that he and a couple of his "gangsta" buddies lifted an entire car off of a little girl who was stuck underneath it, saving her life...
