I have either watched the show Global is airing or one similar to it and it was very interested. They did a great deal of effects to make it look real. I'd recommend it.

^^ Yeah, on my Bell guide it had a "Originally Aired Date" of either April or January. I just discounted that as I often find it to be wrong.

I really don't like the idea that humans are "bad" and we should all feel guilty for living.
This seems to become more prevalant every day with global warming and the like. It seems like everything else should be allowed to live and flourish, but humans are a disease and we should stop making babies and stop using plastic and stop driving cars.
Forget that. We're the dominant species on this planet. It is our responsibility to take care of it as well, but these dooms days scenarios that the world would be better without us is extreme.
Ahem...that wasn't in response to anyone in this thread, just some feelings pent up I guess. Although these shows are interesting to watch, I will say that.

Well we haven't exactly done anything beneficial to the planet since our existence.

What would you consider beneficial? What does anyone consider beneficial? I've planted the odd tree here and there, isnt that beneficial? Am I now Captain Planet?

You can be the heart ring.
I don't mean as individuals, I mean as a general species we've done nothing but harm to Earth have we not?

Forgot to look outside before I posted that.
There is no plant life in the foothills industrial park, you'll have to wait.

On that note, who has the time to speculate about how long the earth will take to recover once all of the humans are gone? Is this seen as a practical and reasonable allocation of research resources? Why not speculate on how many jellybeans can be put in every jar on earth? Isnt that information just as useful?
Sure, ecological recovery stats have their uses, but isnt this taking it a little far? If it ever happened there'd be nobody around to care or even determine whether the initial estimate was anywhere close. They could say anything they wanted.
I propose a boycott....whos making signs?

Couldn't have said it better myself
All this information is totally useless
