Well I think it's a different strokes for different folks type thing. Some people equate image with music and that's why this attitude prevails. I personally am just a fan of music. If I like the sound, like the lyrics, then I'll play it in my car, and put it on my iPod. I have everything from Classic Rock to Country to Timberland to a few indie songs. Only one band I really can't understand why anyone listens to is: Death Cab for Cutie. I get it that the lyrics are supposed to be deep and profound, but why don't they just sell a book of poems instead of setting them to a whiny annoying sounding voice.
