Yeah, if a bunch of 14 year-old girls aren't going to rock it on their iPods it's probably terrible.

My friend popped this cd the week it came out into his player as we were driving down the road. I was aghast that he had bought a JT cd.

But then....after listening to it.... I went and bought it for myself.

Its a very good album. Every song (maybe minus one or two) are good enough to be played on the radio. Not only that but the placement of the songs on the album allows for a smooth transition between songs and with that, the album just plays itself. Not a lot of artists know how to make an album, as compared to a song. There is a big difference.

I gained a lot of respect for JT off of this, and that is something I NEVER would have thought I would say. To all the bashers of this album.. you need to listen to it first.

Oh, btw, not saying what I said above applies to JT or anything, just a general comment.
Well I think it's a different strokes for different folks type thing. Some people equate image with music and that's why this attitude prevails. I personally am just a fan of music. If I like the sound, like the lyrics, then I'll play it in my car, and put it on my iPod. I have everything from Classic Rock to Country to Timberland to a few indie songs. Only one band I really can't understand why anyone listens to is: Death Cab for Cutie. I get it that the lyrics are supposed to be deep and profound, but why don't they just sell a book of poems instead of setting them to a whiny annoying sounding voice.

This post makes me laugh from the complete contradiction I hole hearty agree with the first half being a fan of a wide variety of music myself, to each there own…the idea of “good music” and “bad music” doesn’t make sense to me, if you like it than its yours you don’t need a reason to like it, if you do than its good to you

But than you go and completely destroy that thought by saying you don’t understand why people listen to Death Cab for Cutie if you want to answer that question how about you read the first line of your post?
