Yeah I'd heard he was eldery which was part of the reason for the concern. His dissappearance was all too sudden - he didn't get in any big arguments or anything that would cause him to leave.
Not that anyone owes us an explanation when they decide not to post anymore. Just always a bit odd when someone who is a regular suddenly stops posting.
Regarding banned users - we don't comment about why someone was banned or when they will be back.

I dont remember much of this shoestring, however I dont really pay much attention to user names.
Firefly did you know his full name? Have you ever tried 411ing and see anything is listed, but I guess that would depend on how close you actually were to give him a call to see.

Well he wasn't ancient, probably mid to late 50s. I'm sure he told me how old he was at some point. He disappeared exactly one month after we had dinner... maybe he was irritated with me for not making plans for another dinner? That would make me very sad. I'd hate to be the cause of anyone's departure. I should google him again, see if anything new comes up.

Another guy who hasn't posted for sometime but who has been active recently is Mots. When I first joined he was always the guy who would do the predict tonights score threads. Hopefully he'll post a bit once the season gets going.

The post was intended just to see if anyone knew where he was. I believe I actually posted specifically that no one owes us anything like an explanation should they decide to leave. It was a note of curiousity more than anything.
Your not-so-subtle shot at the board is also appreciated.

Fair enough, I just was curious what happened to the little feller. So hot under the collar he was..
Clearly he stepped on some toes. Thing was, I didn't even notice for maybe 2 months or something.

I spoke with Shoe quite a few times through PM. Some may remember that he wanted a "Byron Ritchie #1 center" sig so I made him one and he offered to buy me lunch one day for doing it for him but I don't work downtown so we never met up. That was right after Byron had signed with Calgary.
After Ritchie got low-bridged by Spacek in a game versus Chicago, he missed a considerable amount of time rehabbing the injury. I frame houses for a living and oddly enough ended up framing a house in Arbour Lake and Byron lived in the house right beside the one we framed. We talked to him a couple times and saw him coming and going at the same time everyday as he'd be off to rehab and then home. I told Shoe about this and he asked me to tell Byron to say hi from his biggest fan and then he and I joked around about starting a Byron Ritchie fan club.
Too bad Shoe's not still around, he seemed like a good guy and always contributed positively.

Wow, a few names, I remember in this post. With a few name changes going around I kinda thought they may have just changed thier screen names. I really did enjoy Shoestring's posts, as well as some of the arguments Jordon dug himself into.
