HAHA That person should NOT be allowed to have children!
Also yes that lady won her case, that is why all these places put "Warning: HOT" on all their cups. Honestly I don't get it, people take no responsibility for anything now a days.

I asked a lawyer about these ludicrous lawsuits and he said, what you don't hear about from the media is the appeal. I guess the amount typically gets cut substantially to something at least in the ballpark of reasonable. I was glad to hear about that.

Resonable in this situation should be NOTHING!
I am sure millions and millions of people have spilled coffee on themselves and were not all suprised when it was hot. But somehow some idiot gets money because of her own stupidity.

This lawsuit is a joke. If you are allergic to something ie:cheese, wouldn't you check the burger you will eat first before you take a bite? I mean you will be able to notice the cheese even if it is a small portion, right? Suing for $10 Million is ridiculous enough. Then those parties who are saying they risked their life bringing him to the hospital was pathetic. What's the matter they forget the number for 911??

well the basis for her argument and the part that had some validity to it was that McDonalds superheated their coffee to insanely hot levels and she ended up getting third degree burns or something like that. it wasn't that the coffee was hot, it was that it was so much hotter than any other restaurant's with no warning
it's still a stupid lawsuit and she ended up getting a rediculous amount of money for minimal "suffering", but it still had more validity than this cheese scam

So did this guy tell them about his allergy or did he just request no cheese?

last week i was a bar, and tried to pickup a lit candleholder, which turned out to be insanely hot and managed to burn my hand to the point where i had some pretty massive blisters on 4 fingers (and still do). I guess the bar couldve made sure they bought candleholders that are more heat resistant to the touch, but in the end there is only one person to blame. the mentally inferior table 5.

"After getting the food, the three drove to Clarksburg and started to eat the food in a darkened room where they were going to watch a movie, Houston said."
|
So is his argument for not checking the burger himself before eating going to be because he was in a darkened room and possibly couldn't see or check?

Jeromy took one bite and started having the reaction, Houston said. One of the three immediately called the McDonald's to let restaurant employees know they had messed up the order, but had to cut the call short when Jeromy started having a bad reaction, Houston said.
|
He started having a reaction immediately and their initial reaction was to call the restaurant and complain? That's quite odd.

I wonder if the burger had no cheese on it but was cooked next, and touched by, a burger with cheese on it.

This is why you and you alone should be responsible for yourself if you have very bad allergies. If your allergy is severe, you dont even need the piece of cheese to get a reaction, all you need is for your food to touch the food you are allergic to. Like I said earlier, pretty dumb to go to a fast food restaurant where cheese is prevalent if you are allergic to that food product.
Fast food chains do not have cooks who can deal with these very special types of problems and requests. I mean, these are usually young kids, working for minimal pay, they are not dieticians trained in allergy problems.

I refuse to accept any responsibility for myself, my actions, consequences resulting from myself or my actions, in any way shape or form.
I choose to blame society.

Just because they don't show the Quarter Pounder (often called a Quarter Hamburger) on the menu board, doesn't mean they don't sell it. Go into McDonalds and order one, and ask for a receipt. It will not show a Quarter pounder with cheese; unless the person punched it wrong.
Me, I have a slight allergy to eggs. When I order a breakfast sandwich, I always check it before pulling away from the window, because they screw that up about 50% of the time.

A long time ago a guy made a complaint that there was no warning on a bag of salted peanuts. He said that if he was allergic to buts then there was no warning that the PEANUTS contained nuts. He didn't sue or anything but now every bag of peanuts contains the message: WARNING MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF NUTS. MADE AND PACKAGED IN A FACTORY THAT HANDLES NUTS. Class.

Norm!

The question would be, how many times had he eaten at McDonalds, and how many times had he ordered a quarter pounder without cheese.
