When “Flames tattoos” come up as a topic of conversation I can’t help but think about the drunken fools who walking down the red mile thought it would be a good idea to get a flaming C tattoo and now can’t name a player past “Kipper” or “Iggy”

lmao @ this thread...

Hey what ever you decide I think you need to post a picture of your tattoo here when you get back...

Personally if I got a tattoo related to the flames I'd go for one of the players hot hockey wives posing naked against a stripper pole with a snake coiled around her legs...

Whatever.
I agree that if you decide to put some ink on your body at a time in your life to mark that event and remember it, so be it. Playing the cynic and saying how 'lame' someone is for doing something personal is the world's easiest job.

It may not be your choice but respect someone for feeling the buzz to do it. Not sure i see how having a winnipeg jets/hartford whalers/brooklyn dodgers tattoo would make you look like a f'tard either.. you experienced/enjoyed it and commemerated it. what a crime.

if you look at the title, the poster was asking which logo might be good/appropriate, not how he/she could be shot down for that idea.

try to understand that impulsive/impetuous behaviors can sometimes be regarded as positive when viewed in another light.

I've only ever seen one guy with a Flames tattoo. I've seen approximately ten million barbed wire arm bands, "tribal" designs and cartoon characters from the 1970's though. A Flames tattoo, while not exactly my style, is more original than most tattoos you see walking around.

And all this "get something that means something to you" stuff sounds good, but really, I'd rather have a Flames tattoo than the logo from my high school, a portrait of my ex-girlfriend or some Celtic design "commemorating" some people and some place that I don't actually care about but used as an excuse to get a tattoo.

If you do it though, just get a basic flaming C. Nothing stylized or fancified. Make it red too.

I think that's a pretty fair thing to say. And I would also agree with just getting the flaming C in red, trying to dress things up often just makes them look cheapened or silly.

God, that would hurt.
It would also suck when the Flames change jersey styles.

I would probably chip in on the cost of that one!

If this is a spur of the moment thing I would hold off and honestly think about it for about a year, a lot of things can change in a year.

However if you still went with it, I would probably put something within the Flaming C that reminds you of when and/or how you began to cheer for the Flames or maybe even the number of your favorite Flame.

Go for it!
Don't worry about the people that are saying "But what about in 20 or 30 years?!" Get something you won't regret - if you want this and don't think you'll regret it, go for it.

If 30 years from now it turns out you do regret it, get it covered up by a different tattoo or removed. Tattoo removal right now is fairly quick, cheap and painless... by the time you regret it you'll have no worries getting it removed.

I'm a huge fan of tats and while I wouldn't personally get a flames tat, simply because it's something that's not my own design, I think that you should go for it if you really want it. The simple black flaming C would be my personal choice.
