hmmmm "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith makes me want to kill someone, and I like Aersosmith

That is a great song, IMO.
There are lots of bad songs, to find the worst would take a whole day.
Some notables
That song "EI" by Inessense or something like that
Lots of Brittany Spears songs.
I will add some more as the day goes on.....

I love TCB by BTO "that's how we talked in the 70's there wasn't a second to spare"
As soon as the Backstreet Boys changed their name to BSB it was over, same with NKTOB (can you tell I took a popculture music course?)
calgaryred,# quick question:# How can you love that Beatles tune, yet not like anything sung by a boy band?# The Beatles are "THE" boyband.# Mind you it can be argued that The White Album took them from generic "boyband" status to regular "band" status.# But realize that's how they started
I think you mean "modern era boy band" in whichcase I'd generally agree with that
|
The Beatles didn't start the boy band phenomenon, they started modern music as we know it today. I'm pretty sure no boy band could play their own instruments and write an album like Sgt. Peppers. [/b][/quote]
So why label them as one? The boy band thing is a modern phenomenon, it doesn't apply to the Beatles. U2 started singing covers as a high school band, are they a boy band too?
oops, wrong quote, sorry

well then yeah they would have definately started as a boyband. The definition of "boyband" is vague. Personally for me it's very much a "I'll know it when I see it" type deal.
generally speaking if you're a band of boys, that doesn't have creative freedom over your work (creative freedom being ability to produce the original material you want to produce)
but there are exeptions to the rules I suppose. It's very vauge. U2 start as a boyband IMO ... yes. Did the Beatles, undoubtably. Did they progress into something better? Without a doubt. Did KNTOB, BSB, or N*Sync... not really, no.

Oh N'Sync just got better with time my friend, make no mistake. I understand your point, boyband is just so derrogatory. (sp?)
By your definition, bands like Led Zeppelin, the Who and AC/DC started as "boybands" and that just seems so wrong on so many levels to me.

A boy band is a bunch of pretty boys recruited into a band. They don't write or play their own songs and are marketed exclusively to pre-teen and teenage girls.
Nobody picked Ringo Starr because he's cute (sorry Marge).
Since when do the Backstreet Boys play their own instruments?

I got one word for you, MMMBop.....
The most heinous, boy (??) band ear acid to date in my humble opinion. For such a sunny, bopping song I can't remember anything ever giving me such an insane urge to kill before.

I submit Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy" is the worst song ever.
Ubsurd lyrics coupled with a musical Tarzan yell makes this truly horrible (but as a fan of bad 80s music i have a soft spot for it).

Anything by Rush. Good god, do I ever hate Rush. I don't know what it is, but it comes across as a try hard Canadian attempt at a hair band.

Five worst songs of all time, IMO:
1. 1979, Smashing Pumpkins
2. Tainted Love, anyone who sings it.
3. Money, Pink Floyd?
4. Roxanne, The Police
5. A tie between anything any boyband has ever done at any time.
