Lots of spiders here and they give me the bejubus. the wolf
spiders are damn ugly but sometimes they're fun to watch as they chase another spider down.
I'm sitting here at the computer and this spyder starts dropping down on his web, right in front of me, but I've got the shop vac handy and he's toast.

I dislike spiders because the buggers bite me at night for some strange reason. They don't really creep me out, I have no problem grabbing them and throwing them away. As for the car thing...happened to my friend while we were driving, luckily I was able to get the spider and let the wind take it.
What really creeps me out are centipedes and millipedes. Those things are freakin' nasty and quick to boot.

Well, I'm really glad I live in Canada now. When I was growing up in Malaysia, I had the fortune of coming across spiders the size of dinner plates, foot long centipedes, and the worst of the worst...c0ckroach.

LGA why do you think spiders are biting you at night. Spiders don't really bite people unless they are threatened i.e. you roll on top of them. If this happens nightly I would look at another source for the bites.

Ugh, there was a big wolf spider at work last week--I'm in the ladies room, taking care of business, and the damn thing goes running across the floor 2 feet in front of me.
I used the power of The Dion to glare and make it stay still long enough to wash my hands and go run to my boss like the little girl I am.

I hate walking into spider webs...or more commonly...single strands of web. One of the top 3 worst things about my job. It annoys me to no end. I'll spend the next 15 minutes running my hands all over my face and head vigorously.
I don't really hate spiders...but I don't generally let them live when I see them in my house.

Wow, That Camel Spider is amazing. I've never seen anything like it. 10 legs. Pretty unique creature ( not a spider). Some people have never heard of Narwharls and I have never heard of Camel spiders. CP is a regular Nature of Things!! Mr. Suzuki would give mad props to this site.
edit: i stand corrected, they do have 8 legs not ten. The front two are palp, similar to an undifferentiated version of a scorpions pinchers.
Still a crazy animal

This article:

leads me to believe your friend was perhaps exagerating his story. That or no one over there reads National Geographic!
