Rush Hour 2!

I couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole movie. hahahaha

James Carter : Just tell me how the Triads gonna kill us.
Lee : They will torcher us for three days.
James Carter : Okay, I can handle that.
Lee : Then they will cut off our eggrolls.
James Carter : Our eggrolls? Oh hell no! We gotta get out of here! Don't give up.

I liked the original Shrek, and don't remember laughing more than a couple times during the sequel. Just didn't think it was funny.

Some more better #2's:

Aliens
The Bourne Supremacy
Kill Bill 2
Hot Shots Part Deux
X-Men 2

Honorable mention to:

Gremlins 2
Die Hard 2 & 3

Although those 3 are probably not "better" than the originals, I enjoyed them at least as much.

The Godfather II is the best sequel ever. Not only did they make it better than one of the best movies of all time, they took a complete left turn with the back story and came up with an all-time classic that not only makes the first one even better, but it stands on its own with only a handful of other films.

To be fair, if Attack of the Clones had been released straight to DVD but inside the box was not a DVD but a loose, smelly coagulation of George Lucas' feces after a night of binge drinking, which then broke your DVD player when you tried vainly to play it, it would have been better than The Phantom Menace. So I don't think that really counts.

Aliens
That's an interesting one. I know a lot of people who would agree with you, but I hated Aliens with a passion. Giving the humans all of these weapons and guns and such kinda ruined the mystique. The aliens became so easy to kill individually, and it became a battle between the aliens and human technology, as opposed to the battle between aliens and humans, as in the first and third. They essentially turned a suspense/thriller movie into an action movie, and I didn't like that change at all.

Yes. Gremlins 1 was ok, but Gremlins 2 was 100 times better IMO

Shrek 2, Toy Story 2 and AP 2 were great. Speaking of Toy Story. They're making a 3.

Who? Pixar or Disney?

This brings up an interesting question. Who owns the rights to characters made under the Disney/Pixar contract? Disney or Pixar? With that arrangement coming to a crashing end what does that bode for a franchise like Toy Story?

I believe Disney is making Toy Story 3 without the involvement of Pixar

Also no way is The Two Towers even close to as good as Fellowship of the Ring.

I believe Disney is. Pixar is only associated with Disney with the Incrediables to see how it does.

No, Pixar signed a deal many years ago to do 6 films (not including sequels, i.e. Toy Story 2) for Disney. Their next film Cars may be their last with Disney as the distributor.

Series shouldn't count those aren't true sequels. Especially LOTR since they made all the movies at the same time.
